Quote : | "Another wonderful, wild, train-wreck of a day in the Southeastern Conference. Especially on the East side, where a pair of highly-ranked teams -- Kentucky and Florida -- lose to a pair of Dogs -- Mississippi State and Georgia. Plus, in Knoxville, an unlikely contender for the division crown blows a 21-point lead, gets two chances at a game-tying field goal, and wins in overtime over an even more unlikely contender for the division title.
Here's a fun fact for you: after today, Miss. State and Vanderbilt are as close to bowl eligibility as are Tennessee, Arkansas, and (of all teams) Florida. God, I love this conference." |

good game so far...
and aside from beating South Carolina this weekend, Tennessee got a good review from a recruit I really like, A.J. Alexander:
Quote : | ""It blew me away," the 6-foot-1, 180 pound Alexander said of his trip. "It was crazy there. I have never been to a place like that. Their fans are crazy. I mean they have people coming to the game in boats."
While the stadium and atmosphere of the game left a lasting impression on Alexander, it wasn't the only thing that got his attention.
"I thought it was going to be really country there," Alexander said. "But it is a nice city. It's smaller, but driving in from the airport it reminded me of Pittsburgh with the river and the mountains. It was kind of like home." " |
