I fucking suck at this game.

The leader will have something like 32 kills. A GOOD game for me is like 8. I feel like such the retard on there. I can come up behind someone start shooting and somehow miss the fucker all together. Then they kill me with one shot.

Im thinking of buying that fragX controller, anyoen have one? What I lack in skill I can make up for in controller. haha

Ugh. I'm only level 21 and I need some new guns in a bad way. I am surprisingly enjoying the MP5 over the M4, and I seem to average more kills with it than the M4 by far. Only 2 more levels for some Claymores.

IM at 23 and just got the claymores. If you play against someone with one or two silver stars, be prepared to die often. Those guys are like navy seals, you never see them coming.

THe most frustrating is to get knifed in the back while looking out a window waiting. Cant stand that.

^^I have found that to be incorrect. I'm lvl 25 and I played all day yesterday with 5 star generals, 2 stars, majors etc and I always finished top 2 out of the whole server not just our team. this was on Team Hardcore. These guys just have a lot of time to play sucky and lvl up.

I always use a cheat code that makes me level 1 all the time and my speed is reduced to 1/3 of normal and the only weapon I get is a rusty letter opener, and I still always have at least 10 more kills than all the other people combined.

^^^ I am just really bad then. Im not good at aiming with the ps3 joysticks. Some of these guys nail you on the run. I almost have to stop, aim, and then shoot everytime. Shooting from the hip is almost worthless

I use the steady aim perk whenever I have the MP5. Since I usually use it on smaller levels, I often run into people who appear less than 10 feet away, and with steady aim I can usually kill them from the hip while they are still lining me up in their scopes.

Outside of 15 feet or so, you gotta line up your shots.

I'm using keyboard and mouse on 360 with this game, and it is absolutely amazing - about 98% as good as PC response. I still suck, but I suck a lot less than I would if I was using the pad.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure for my MP5 setup I like to go with red dot sight, Stopping Power, and Steady Aim. (Or maybe it's Martyrdom instead of Steady Aim currently...) I think I only need 20 or so more kills for the ACOG scope. What's that do, by the way?

Once I get some Claymores, I'm gonna put the silencer back on my MP5 and do my Henry Ramirez impersonation. (Kudos if you remember this guy from Ghost Recon.)

the scope on the MP5 sucks because its a close range weapon. It basiclly puts a 'sniper' scope on your assault rifles with crosshairs. Doesn't zoom in quite as far but zooms in quite a bit.

I only use the scope on big maps with long range because I'd rather have an M4 with the ability to snipe and close quarters combat than just a sniper rifle. But the red dot is a lot better on smaller maps. Of course not having a crosshair at all means the red dot should almost always be used lol cause zooming in to shoot a guy thats not that far away sucks.

I seem to do both. I move towards the action, then wait for someone. However, that someone usually knives me from behind. LOL, to which GD comes out of my mouth very often.

Some people will run the whole time and can shoot on the run, I dont know how they do that so well.

^I do mostly running. I'm always the first one in a building or firefight cause I hate waiting. But it works out very well. Stun/Flash followed by a storm in and you can rack up 2 or 3 kills before anyone knows what hit them. Also when you are running around a lot it makes it harder to be killed. And not having a hud/nade indicator also helps to run. Unless I'm within a few feet of my target I always run, aim (left trigger), fire a few rounds which is usually enough to take someone down in hardcore.

I also do a lot of crouch walking. Point i'm trying to make is, unless i'm defending a bomb site or defending a planted bomb, i never sit and wait.

Just to be clear with the grenades, the flash ones only blind you if you're looking at them when they go off, while the stun ones stun you if you're in the vicinity. Is that right or do I have it wrong?

flash will still blind you but not as long if you aren't looking at it as long as you are near it.

I built an XIM rig so that I can use my PC's mouse and keyboard on my 360. I've become such a huge fan of my Zboard MERC that I really don't like playing FPS games without it.

I typically prefer to fight at long range, but so far I haven't used the sniper rifles in this game much. Once I really "learn" the maps and find the good spots to plink away from afar, then I may start doing that more (especially once I get some Claymores so that I can better prevent having people sneak up on me). I've been using the M4 and MP5 extensively at medium range, and I have simply had more success with the MP5 since it's faster and more accurate on the draw. I really suck at twitch shooting, and I've never been one to want to get right in the enemy's face in any FPS game, but I find I'm doing that a lot in CoD4. I can't wait to get the P90 so that maybe I can have a little more range.

There's nothing I hate more than when I go to toss a flash and I brick it off of the wall and blind myself and any nearby teammates. As a result, I am almost exclusively carrying smoke. I'd much rather prevent a stupid death from afar because I could be easily seen than I would be gunned down at close range. Besides, smoke is MUCH more useful in Domination games.

another thing to add that if you do like running around a lot and getting into the action at close range, you can't live without the fast reload perk! It's a life saver.

Every game including this one has its little quirks, but in the end it just comes down to lining up the bad guys and squeezing the trigger.

yeah you can put it on the easiest difficulty level and easily get into the single player mode

the call of duty games have a health system where if you get shot/damaged, as your damage increases your screen gets red/bloody...simply ducking behind cover or...not getting shot for a few seconds will help you regain full health...that is, there are no health packs, no life gauge, etc

the only difference i've noticed in the different difficulty levels on COD2, COD3 and COD4 are that on Recruit or Regular, you can take a few shots and get away...on Veteran, 1 or 2 good shots will kill you

Hence I beat COD2, COD3 and COD4 on Regular difficulty in a mere couple of days...but it took me weeks if not months to beat them on Veteran

but yeah you can pick it up quickly
