If Herb Pope was cleared to play, he would have outscored all of Dook's freshmen, and it would be 50-47 NMSU (Herb with 32).


The jacket/suit comment was more about Coach K being an ultra-conservative coach.

well he was all praising Coach K for "not wearing a bright blue flashy coat". besides Roy, who else of his coaching adversaries wears a bright coat? why does it matter what a coach wears as long as he can coach. V and Sloan were the ones that started wearing blazers that were of the color of the school they coached. now Roy, Pearl, Donovan, Izzo, and numerous others have that one coat that coincides with their school's colors that they bring out for big games.

Nessler and Dykes are good... they are fair and Nessler is just a good announcer... beats the hell out of the Mike Patrick/Dick Vitale Dukefest that we know is coming in ACC play.

I just looked at Duke's schedule and it is surprisingly easy. I didn't realize only two other ACC teams are ranked preseason. They only play 3 preseason ranked teams this year, and of one of those won't be ranked long (Pitt).

Of course, UNC is never afraid to play anyone, anywhere...

most teams don't play more than 3 ranked teams preseason. i think we play 2 but we also play in orlando and duke plays in maui. i'm sorry everybody doesn't play a tough schedule like your beloved tar heels.

and obviously no more than 3 teams would be ranked...its a 3 team conference.
