Rebuild clutch pack, 3500 stall, fix the trans, throw away that junk carb, get a 750 dp, and roll with it! Says the HNIC.

I hate a goddamn double pumper. The only good thing about it is that it's cake to rejet...which you'll be doing all the fucking time.

^^true that, that's one of the main reasons i yanked the one off my duster. it sure was a mean sob when it was tuned right at wot, but it was a pain for normal around town driving. i had to rejet it whenever the weather changed more than 20-30 degrees, which in nc is all the damn time. definitely traded some power with the edelbrock, but it's trouble free. carter afb's are just as nice (same design pretty much).

i've always had good luck with msd stuff, even the basic 6al. the digital 7 is definitely a sweet unit.

heres the deal, the other morning on the way to work the main power harness decided to mind meld itself to the wiper linkage. caught it in time before anything more than some wires and loom burnt, rewired the car that night and then last night on the way home my new wiring started acting up. ended up with a flat battery on the side of 98, but i had all my wiring shit with me so I called colter to bring me another red top and I got to work rewiring the shit. turns out between the fire and all the other shit, the otherwise new 6AL box gave it up. it was leaking smoke and stinking like shit, so ran down to advance and picked up another one. im not getting rid of the MSD shit, cause that means more $$ and wired right its working fine at the moment.

the edelbrock carb is good on the car now for around town use, its permanent home will be on the red car and the white car will wear a big holley. just like the red car will be getting its battery and shit back sometime soon.

those boxes pull a shitload of current, is it at lest fused? or hooked directly into the battery? it looked like the guy had done a halfway decent wiring job

Dude, it takes no time at all and damn little money to throw the OEM 4-pin HEI module back in the dizzy and rewire the coil. If you decide you want to get rid of the MSD.

I think I'd rather run somebody else's capacitive discharge box. One that actually does multiple sparks at RPMs above 3k.

I totally hear you, but im running a MSD billet distributor that requires an MSD box. And it works so I am not throwing more money at that right now.

Oh, hell, man. That's bullshit. You can remote mount damn near any electronic ignition module and use it with that dizzy, I'd bet. What kind of pickup assembly does it use? Stator/reluctor set that generates an AC sine wave? Hall effect? Optical? If it's optical, then things might get a little interesting. Other than that it's a fucking cakewalk.

i am well aware that i can rig the pickup in the distributor to work with another box but

Sounds suspiciously like Project ZXAPPEAL.

Which is coming along somewhat. Money is a big issue. I need to start whoring myself out to support my toy habits, I think.

so like from that angle you know what house it comes from right? do the neighbors talk shit behind yalls back? was it one of those neighborhoods that was good until yall moved there? just asking cause it seems like a pretty gay thing to complain about...i mean its a fucking hood leaning against a house

Yeah, well, folks get their panties in a wad over some really dumb shit.

But I have to admit, it would kind of suck to have somebody important over for dinner and have Joel over there redlining that Cuntlass in the driveway while pouring a bottle of seafoam down the carb and smoking everything out and having a body part or two leaning up against the house.

Oh, you could top it off by spray painting something like "Northside T-Dub Niggaz FTW, Bitches" on said hood.

it's not that bad if you have a garage and have a place to keep most of the mess. sometimes it just manages to find its way out...

picked up some brand new bfg drag radials for a song, maybe I will try them out tomorrow. switched to a higher quality v belt and its not throwing it at 6-7k... yet. got the new fan motor installed and it is working as well as a rigged up e-fan can. so far, so good. pulled a u-turn on capital tonight at the pep boys, and got the go ahead from the little voice that all the blockheads were down at duncan so i let it marinate. for having no tires on the back the damn car will get up and go pretty well when she wants... i need to shine some attention on the brakes now so that it will be able to stop too.
