Just talked to my buddy who is a scout for the Packers...
They're going through players and are on the "M"s and said that Dajuan is their top safety on the board and they were nuts on him...definitely putting him in the first round. They've got the 30th pick and would grab him if he was still there.
Said they have Rumph and Pressley rated as free agents. 2/8/2008 3:46:01 PM |

Blackman not invited to the combine. This kinda sucks....after his performance in that senior game I thought he would have been a lock for an invite. He could have had some good combine numbers and gotten picked up in one of the later rounds. That being said, you still have a small chance of being drafted if you aren't invited to the combine...but it sure doesn't help.
I can definitely see him getting picked up as a free agent return specialist. 2/19/2008 1:59:22 PM |

Doubt it hurts his stock but:
Darren McFadden's agent confirmed that Darren McFadden could be the father of up to three illegitimate children.
There are a lot of paternity tests in his future. This isn't McFadden's only pre-draft trouble, he was also handcuffed after a fight at a piano bar in January. We doubt it will have significant impact on where he's drafted, but it's worth consideration in an NFL increasingly concerned with character.

I don't see how that would effect his draft status, I mean you have to imagine there are quite a few NFL players who have illegitimate kids running around out there. 2/26/2008 7:12:21 PM |

^ They must feel that he wouldn't be available in the 2nd-round. And he has a lot of upside, so they could slowly bring him in behind Dawkins, that would make some sense. Plus a lot of teams have cooled off on Phillips so he is likely going to be considered the top S in the draft. 3/12/2008 10:20:45 AM |

The Panthers need a lot of help but if McFadden were to drop to them, they would be complete idiots to not take him. 3/12/2008 11:52:09 AM |

There would have to be some dark rites performed for us to even get a whiff of McFadden.
But that would be awesome. Sadly, if McFadden drops out of the top 5, Jerry Jones' chance of successfully trading up to get him becomes exponentially higher.
Don't teams only get 10 minutes for the first round this year? If McFadden were to slip, that would be the craziest 10 minutes in a war room, ever. 3/12/2008 11:57:12 AM |

I doubt the panthers would even take mcfadden at 13, all of our offseason moves SCREAM OT in the first round. I'm pretty sure we'll end up with Williams at 13, or preferably we could trade down a bit and end up with Otah. 3/12/2008 3:09:53 PM |
LudaChris All American 7946 Posts user info edit post |
I'd love to be sitting at #13 and McFadden still be there when we're on the clock. We'd have so many trade offers on our plate we wouldn't be able to go through them all, haha.
I'd take McFadden and either dual-back him with DeAngelo and make our offense that much better or package him in a big trade for some OL help and draft picks. 3/12/2008 3:20:45 PM |
