if there is someone there to catch the lateral and they miss and it goes out of bounds then it is just a lateral, clock would stop. If you just throw it behind you out of bounds and nobody was there that would be an intentional fumble... i believe? I really just pulled that out of my ass.

It's really satisfying to see the Steelers lose after seeing Hines Ward act like a total jackass the entire game. He should have been flagged on at least 2 occasions, and the "PI" call that he completely caused was absolutely ridiculous. I used to be ambivalent towards him, used to think he was just hard nosed and good, but after watching him yap and cheat all day today he's now my least favorite player in the NFL (after all the players on the Raiders).

Hines ward always acts like a complete ass. My favorite move by him last night was when he caught the ball thrown across the middle on 3rd and 26 and jumped up to taunt the secondary by signaling for a first down. They reminded him that he was still 10 yards shy of the stick and was looking at the starting stick.
