seriously, I'm rather jealous.
however we'll have some interesting races in Mississippi to deal with. Maybe split our US Senate delegation 1-1.

Sure you won't forget the story, at least until your old and Alzheimer'sree. That doesn't mean you'll necessarily remember whether you told it to someone or not.
Would you be so quick to point something like this out if it were Romney or someone with a similar situation? Considering Edwards dropped out ages ago and I would be really surprised if the Dems picked him as a running mate, I don't see why this matters at all.6/10/2008 11:46:04 PM |

whats embarassing is that our local news doesnt appear to be covering it. I understand the source is sketchy, but there 'appears' to be plenty of witnesses they could be calling to confirm. 7/23/2008 11:47:52 AM |

a lot of news outlets aren't covering it because they think it's an old story. which it is, til the can prove that he was actually there visiting her, and that the kid is actually his.
until then, it's just speculation technically. 7/23/2008 12:49:19 PM |

now that a criminal complaint has been filed against the hotel (by the enquirer reporters) AND the security guard has stepped forth (although on fox news)... this story should gain some traction soon.
Hopefully they don't Larry Craig him. nobody deserves that until the full truth comes out, even if the full truth is... what we heard from the beginning. 7/26/2008 8:07:12 AM |

NEWSFLASH:
Edwards Admits Sexual Affair; Lied as Presidential Candidate
Quote : | "John Edwards repeatedly lied during his Presidential campaign about an extra-marital affair with a novice film-maker, the former Senator admitted to ABC News today.
In an interview for broadcast tonight on Nightline, Edwards told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff he did have an affair with 42-year old Rielle Hunter, but said that he did not love her." |

BEFORE WE ALL RUSH TO JUDGE
she was diagnosed wiht breast cancer in late 2004, after the election
the affair happened in 2006 -- AFTER she was already in remission and was no longer requiring treatments.
she was told about it shortly after it happened. it was apparently a brief affair. they apparently went through counselign or whatever and put it behind them.
her cancer returned in early 2008.
....
so fuck all you self-righteous assholes.
mind your own buisness okay.
but ... i will agree that edwards is a selfish bastard for thinking he could run a presidential campaign and not have this be found out.
for that, he is an asshole. 8/8/2008 4:10:42 PM |

It's a pretty dick thing to do, but infidelity is extremely prevalent in America today. I have personally known more than few people who have at some point in their marriage failed to remain faithful.
So on the one side, he's only human. Something like 1 in 4 Americans is unfaithful at some point in their marriage. (Which sort of figures with a divorce rate close to 50%.)
I'd still like to think that the caliber of a man who would run for the highest office in the land would be something a little better. You know, the cream of the crop so to speak.
This, unfortunately, does not seem to be the case. 8/8/2008 4:36:34 PM |

This relationship is usually inverse.
Imagine the kind of personality that spends a majority of their life trying to rule other people, who then feels they should take the next step and rule the most powerful country on the planet. It's not your meek little "nice guy." As amiable as Obama (or Bush for that matter) comes off as being, I don't know anyone that had a coke habit that is not at least a little-bit insane.8/8/2008 4:40:41 PM |
