paper or plastic?

man, i want another bike in a bad way.it'll be game on for sure when i get back from iraq. i have a hard time justifying getting one before then (kinda cold and rainy here in WA, and the traffic enforcement is absolutely INSANE...and I don't know if I'll have room in the truck for it on the move to NC...and then I don't want to pay summertime prices on one just to keep it for 2-3 months before I leave, and I don't want it to sit for 6 months while I'm gone).
3/23/2008 11:22:53 PM
get it, ride it, sell it.
3/23/2008 11:47:44 PM
i'm on short time, though...never know if i could unload it in time
3/23/2008 11:52:28 PM
I figured I'd share what my new ride looks like. And I'd rather stick to parking lots and side streets than do something silly like get out into major traffic unprepared.
3/24/2008 11:35:07 AM
I'd be down for riding in a week or so once I get everything straight with my bike.[Edited on April 30, 2008 at 3:53 PM. Reason : .]

Ill be riding friday or saturday when my bike gets out of the shop. Red ninja with silver/black jacket/helmet.
5/1/2008 2:12:55 PM
That picture made me think of it, but anyone seen the GS with the straight pipe that just comes out at an angle on the side of the bike? I see it around campus quite a bit... Looks cool IMO, and sounds like a very pissed off lawnmower. If I can get a hold of a welder this summer the Ninja might get similar treatment...
5/1/2008 5:55:58 PM
^ sure it's not just a new gsxr? most new race replicas are going to the mid-ship exhaust
5/1/2008 6:08:04 PM
nothing can beat Jon's old bike riding through campus

5/1/2008 8:14:07 PM
I'll try to take a cell phone pic next time I see it sitting still.

5/1/2008 10:30:38 PM
^If thats the stock exhaust on the GS, they may have just cut the midpipe just past the foot peg... Its flat black like that... Wish mine would be that easy to do.
5/1/2008 11:00:42 PM
retarded to straight pipe bikes
5/1/2008 11:08:55 PM
BP ?????
5/1/2008 11:32:35 PM
Hadn't really thought about the back pressure thing... How do the cruisers get away with straight pipes? Or do they just not give a shit that they lose that hp?
5/2/2008 11:13:56 AM
picked up my new bike today....if anyones in wnc let me know i know a ton of great roads to ride....
5/9/2008 2:34:17 PM
there's more to exhaust tuning than backpressure level
5/9/2008 2:52:29 PM
5/9/2008 3:52:24 PM
not only that but his pipe is the perfect diameter to fix some 40's into. Funny how far you can launch glass bottles from a motorcycle exhaust.

I'm thinking about getting another bike. Gas prices are nuts. And there's a nice KTM 2-stroker, street tagged, for sale right up the road. I'll have to put weights on the forks to keep the wheel down.
5/10/2008 12:02:38 PM
get a ruckus
5/10/2008 12:45:02 PM
Speaking of, can't wait to get kicked out of there again.
5/10/2008 1:28:05 PM
just make sure no cake is involved.
5/10/2008 1:52:33 PM
Shit, I'm having one delivered. Might even keep one outside for backup.
5/10/2008 3:12:36 PM
So I thought this was appropriate. http://www.shooshtime.com/sfw/24743_Failure-Does-A-Burnout-Right-Into-A-Parked-Car.htmlI can't stop laughing

http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/mcy/709804064.htmldirt cheap price on this local FZR if all it really needs is a new windscreen. if that's the case and it's still for sale by this weekend, it'll be coming home with me.i don't wanna buy an expensive bike only to leave for iraq for 6 months this fall, but for this price, i'm in. it'll give me a chance to sharpen my riding skills back up before getting back on a more powerful bike.
6/10/2008 3:10:04 AM
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/mcy/764381270.htmloffered $2800 for this Triumph TT600 (man, I almost feel like an asshole for offering such a low price...whatever, worst they can say is "no".)

what's everyone's opinion on those bikes, especially the 636 Kaw?I haven't kept my finger on the pulse of motorcycle prices so much lately, and like i said, i am a little leery of buying a bike that's been raced and laid down twice, even though it's probably just fine.
7/22/2008 12:10:16 PM
they are good solid ballsy bikes.. i like the 03-04 but if you do lots of hard wheelies and lots of endo's plan on upgrading to newer front forks or they might snap.that seems like a good deal on that bike.. and i would get it if i had the $[Edited on July 22, 2008 at 2:45 PM. Reason : n]

hahaha i just got some insurance quotes $107.5 for a gs 500 or a honda 599 or a fz6 or an r6 ....god insurance companies are dumb... cc is all that matters... from 47-> 120ish horsepower but CC is all that matters
7/22/2008 3:27:40 PM
anyone ridden an '03-04 Triumph Daytona 600?i just offered a dude $3700 for one (super lowball price, but he's already asking a really low price and says he needs the money).
8/1/2008 12:48:34 AM
got a response...says he has someone looking at it tomorrow afternoon. he didn't balk at the $3700, though, so my guess is it's mine this weekend if it doesn't sell tomorrow.
8/1/2008 1:22:32 AM
nice. even if it sucks, your back in the game. get your shit together on it, then boot it for something else.
8/1/2008 1:33:43 AM
yep, as long as i can break even or hopefully make a few hundred bucks on it, i'm happy. even if i keep it for a full year, i don't think i'd lose money at that buying price.and yeah, it's MORE than enough bike to keep me busy until I get my skills back up.[Edited on August 1, 2008 at 1:40 AM. 8/1/2008 1:39:46 AM
anyone riding sometime this weekend?
8/1/2008 3:01:04 PM
I would have been but it still isn't ready because the dealer's service center is swamped right now and for whatever reason they messed with my brake system and it's not bled yet or something. I will be riding next weekend though come hell or high water. I would certainly hope my bike will be ready by Tuesday afternoon. I asked them to make sure it would be.
8/1/2008 3:35:32 PM
8/1/2008 3:36:50 PM
Yeah I didn't believe it. Honestly I think it has to do with paperwork. (Like, as in they didn't do it or didn't feel like doing it today). I don't like liars btw. It presents a major dilemma because I already bought the bike. It should be ready and it isn't. There's always some bullshit you know. It fucking pisses me off dude. [Edited on August 1, 2008 at 4:07 PM. Reason : ]
8/1/2008 3:43:43 PM
So you bought the bike new at the dealer and it isn't ready for you to take home? WTF? I hope thats not the case. If it is, tell me who the dealer is so I can never go there...
8/1/2008 4:16:59 PM
Well it looks like I will be getting it tomorrow. It's a long story, it's not entirely their fault but I still don't like it. Poor communication on my part was part of the issue but it appears that they will be straightening it out tomorrow AM and I should be ready to go then. I'll keep you posted.[Edited on August 1, 2008 at 5:54 PM. Reason : ]
8/1/2008 5:53:36 PM
Ah, gotcha. I was thinking that was kinda ridiculous... Never heard of buying a bike off a lot and not being able to take it home that day.
8/1/2008 6:33:16 PM
If I do get it tomorrow I'll probably be up for riding a bit if anyone wants to.[Edited on August 1, 2008 at 9:03 PM. Reason : ]
