They already had a carvel that didn't make it in mission valley
How are they gonna have a goodberrys? 2/11/2008 9:20:40 AM |

people regulalry drive to Kildaire or Garner Station just to get Goodberry's
you never hear about people going out of their way to get Carvel (especially since you can buy it at the grocery store)
the only way to get Goodberry's is to drive 10+ minutes or go to the RBC Center
i really think it would be a hit....and they'd especially make a killing during the spring and summer months 2/11/2008 12:23:13 PM |

I hate that they're gone... they were one of the only places around that understood what it meant to cook a steak RARE. (For the record, rare means a slightly purple center, and the meat hasn't yet undergone the state change to being "threaded" meat.)
That, and /agree about the cheese fries. 4/28/2008 3:46:12 PM |

Yea the Rockola on Battleground is still open.
Ham's would be a pretty good replacement right there by campus. 4/28/2008 7:32:37 PM |

I recently sent Ham's corporate an email asking them why the fuck Raleigh was one of the few college locations in NC without a Hams... they said they were in the process of securing a property to set up on and that we'd have one by 2009. 4/28/2008 7:47:10 PM |

Ham's had a location over in Garner by some church. The church duly protested because Ham's is in fact also a bar, with secular music. Silly hypocrites. 4/28/2008 9:43:10 PM |

There is a Rockola in Asheboro....few friends of mine worked there. That was pretty much the only reason I went there. The food is very overrated. 4/29/2008 1:06:43 AM |

Let's face it, folks, if all these restaurants in question were actually so good, they wouldn't be closing.

Damn, I liked Rockola, they had kickass loaded cheese fries, and their revamped menu was pretty good too. I remember going there for my 10th birthday back in 1990 and they had a Mario arcade game. Damn, the world I knew is slowly vanishing... the McDonalds on Hillsborough closed sometime around 1991 (they had awesome retro decor), then Rathskeller closed about 8 years ago, that was a great hole-in-the-wall. Then Brothers finally folded, and I'd been going there since the early '80s. Hillsborough street can't hold onto my childhood!
I live in Greensboro now and want to try the Rockola here, is it any good? 4/29/2008 12:10:23 PM |
