ok, there's a big difference between being theoretically opposed to birth control and taking one step to make sure she's not saddled with your devil spawn for the next 18 years. beats the hell out of an abortion, which - surprise! - plenty of catholic girls get too.

well plan b (or rather the stuff you used to have to get from your doctor) IS in fact birth control. instead of taking it every 24 hours like you do with a pill, you take 2 or 3 within a 24 hour period.

it makes the girl really sick. headaches, bleeding, vomiting, etc

but apparently it does the trick.

Catholicism seriously blows my mind. It almost seems hypocritical that they denounce contraception AND are completely against abortion. You would think they would support contraception in an attempt to decrease the chances of a women getting an abortion in the chance of unwanted pregnancy. Of course the catholic higher ups, live in this bubble where they expect all good boys and girls to not have sex till marriage in the first place.

They need to get real and realize this will not happen. As damage control they should "tolerate" the use of BC while not approving of it since this would decrease the occurence of the worse sin of abortion. The classical pro-life argument is that once a sperm and egg unite a soul exists as a child of god. If a women is on birth control then this doesn't happen thus that argument is void.

a shit ton of birth control pills won't do shit if she hasn't already gone through a cycle while taking 'em. that shit's gotta get in her system.

Plan B is actually just 2 birth control pills, but not just any birth control pills. They are the ones that contain higher doses of hormones. So if you have that particular birth control lying around, then use them, but regular ones won't work.
