120 mph in an Audi A8 4.2 Quattro (with a JE Design bodykit and huge 4 tailpipes).

The car felt so stable and planted to the ground, it surprised me. And the acceleration was amazing too, using the paddle-shifters.

hah, yeah...the speedometer on the probe went to 140mph, and we were TRYING to do that...but then, around 120, the hood started to shake and that mazda engine just started to scare me...i figured 120 was fast enough

^^haha. I'm glad they put a limiter at 110. That car was so unstable at 100... Being an idiot then, I probably would have went faster...

Ok, well then who was driving the trans am, because you sure as hell weren't.
And B, i call bull on the tahoe going 110. the denali only went 105 and its got the 6.0. No way a 5.3 can go faster than a 6.0.

and to answer the initial question 158mph in a 350z

I think mine was pretty accurate on I-40. It indicated 65mph and I didn't get pulled over, so it must be right, son.

funny since gm cars won't go over 95mph unless the speed limiter is removed.

That almost seems plausible, but I have a hard time believing that if the Ram SRT10 can't get there with roughly 100 extra hp. (Escalade better aerodynamics than a pickup? My guess is yes)

the new /slade makes 400+ hp....

but i still doubt it.

all i know is alot of obd2 gm trucks are limited @ 105ish but it may be diff on the speedo

my dads 88 silverado speedo only goes to 85, but i was crusin wiht my buddies 04 tacoma and his went to 115...

he said his speedo was burried. we both had a full load of rims/tires in the bed.

^traub has an 07 denali with that 6.2 in it, and I can personally attest to the fact that it cuts out at 105. Even though you can tell it has TONs left in it

^^I wasnt the dumbass that said the caddy could do 150mph....I was just saying that after driving the denali up to 105, in my personal opinion it could easily cruise at 120ish..however there is a HUGE difference between 120ish and 150...

I've never driven a Tahoe to the limiter, but on the drive down to spring break one year some friends were following me in a late 90s Tahoe. On I-185 in GA there isn't a lot of traffic, so as lead vehicle I cranked up the speed to an indicated 115mph for a bit. As I was speeding up the Tahoe kept pace till I got into the triple digits then fell far behind. In my mind I recalled it being limited to 105 so after a little bit of fun I slowed down to let them catch up. That instance validates for me that they're electronically limited.

2nd fastest I have driven:

112 mph in my S60.

And in the past month, ridden:

100 mph in Toyota Fortuner
100 mph in Mini Cooper
100 mph in LS460
100 mph in X6
106 mph in FX35
115 mph in Escalade
143 mph in Altima Coupe V6 (2nd fastest as a passenger)

^Escalades are limited to 106mph, or were you not in a USDM model? Even so, while it is a large vehicle, 115 isn't impressive for a 400+hp car

120 last week in the 2000...

LMAO. I did 100mph in the MX-3 (1.6L ~88hp) It was still accelerating too, about 1mph per second

130mph in the Porsche. I gotta get me some new brakes >_<

Of course, I did this in India where local authorities did not mind...

all the earlier ones are. i think the newer ones depend on which wheel/tire package you have as to where it's set.
