If you continue to allow her to manipulate you and control everything, then you only have yourself to blame when she acts like a total fucking bitch on your wedding day. Enjoy those memories for the rest of your life.

I really am not trying to be a bitch to you, but everyone in this thread is saying the same thing and you still aren't doing what you need to do to handle this. You will only have yourself to blame when this whole thing implodes- not her.

Good luck, seriously!

I mean, aren't you a girl ... Just do that whole crying thing while telling her how she is making you feel.

Chicks can't avoid feeling sorry for other chicks who do that whole heart to heart thing.

Calling her tonight. Going to flat out say "You can be in the wedding, or choose not to. That will be your choice. If you choose to stay in the wedding, I expect you to act like a supportive friend and bridesmaid. If you do act up, take it as your own choice to not only be kicked out of the wedding, but the end of our friendship."

And I'll leave it like that. Then it'll be her choice, and she can't blame me anymore.

Of course she'll blame you. Considering all the things she's said to you so far, I wouldn't fool yourself into thinking giving her a choice will somehow in her mind remove you from any blame in her plight in life.

Yeah, now she'll blame you for boiling down your whole friendship to an if/then ultimatum regarding your wedding.

what the fuck kinda girl logic is this. girls dont act to drastic demands..... you should know this. look, if you want a way to control her do what I told you to do. It'll be fast and clean, leaving her shock and with time to think about it. She'll try to contact you...and bam you got her.

I'm really late to this thread, but based upon everything I've read, I'm going to have to side with tww on this one. If she was a true-blue friend of yours, she would suck it up and do what it takes to make you as happy with your wedding as possible. I don't pretend to know what her issues are, although it sounds to me that she didn't start acting this way until the loser bf came along. I'll bet money that they're toxic for each other and will end up ruining one another's lives later on, but that isn't really the focus of this thread.

In any case, you need to just break it down into a non-negotiable ulitmatum for her; either you and your friendship are more important, or her bf is. If she has any passing interest in still being your friend, she'll at least humor you and pretend to be happy and stuff.

If she sides with the bf, then later learns the error of her ways and tries to make amends, I'd tell her she had her chance and to take her selfish, drama-queen ass somewhere else. Of course, I also like to hold grudges and am condemnatory like that.

Bummer. I didn't read most of the rest of the thread, but I think you're making the right decision. I hate to judge someone on a few weeks of sucky, bitchy, irrational disgusting behavior if they've been a normal, supportive friend all along.

However, she's always kinda bitchy, maybe you should cut and run. She's not being a good bridesmaid and you sound totally reasonable. It's not like a surprise wedding. You sound like you've been planning this for a while and given them enough time to get the money together, in general.

Good luck!

^ I would agree if it wasn't her first boyfriend. I don't know why, but girls tend to do pretty psycho things in their first relationship, then (hopefully) come to regret them later in life.

Either way, I still would have kicked her out of the wedding ages ago.

I'd hate to be your friend, you seem to bail so quick. We've never had a single fight that lasted more than an hour in 6 years. This has all occurred in the last 6 months because it's her first b/f, and I was trying to stick by it in hopes she'd mature a little once the "NEW RELATIONSHIP" smell died away.

Quote :

Yep. My mom is 57, blond blue-eyed and very heavily southern Texas-Baptist-Christian. She still smacks me in the arm if I say "Christ" or "Crap"...haha. Dad and I almost peed ourselves when she said this, I've never even heard my mom say "butt" before.

***UPDATE***

She apparently picked a major fight with one of the other bridesmaids. She won't answer any phone calls, because she thinks it's me going to yell at her for upsetting the other bridesmaid. She's actually been sleeping at her parents and boyfriends houses the last week just to avoid all of us (2 of the other bridesmaids are her roomates, and pissed as fuck). I guess I'll either have to show up in person at her parents house or set fire to her car.

^ Now, hang on. Meatstick genuinely asked us for our advice, and, yeah, we're all interested in the drama now that all the info has come out, but it seems that she is actually taking the advice she was given, despite the fact she now has to hunt the woman down to do it, but it's getting somewhere. Besides, I'm anticipating problems with the women I've got planned to be my bridesmaids (granted, it's years down the line, but still, the plans are there,) so I kind of want to see how this gets handled for future reference. I'm a little sister: I learn best by watching big bro fuck his shit up.

I bet you picked out the bridesmaids you wanted before you met the BF. You already know they will be trouble but plan to ask them anyway. And women wonder why everyone else thinks they are batshit crazy.

You see NOTHING wrong with inviting trouble into one of the biggest headaches of your life, and then wondering why it blows up in your face?

This amazes me and confirms the theory that 95% of women feel their sole purpose in life is to create drama.

I was referring to the comment you quoted.
not this whole fiasco.

and yes I do agree with there being something wrong with purposefully inviting drama into your life, but there is nothing wrong with reading something to see how it turns out so you don't fall into the same situation, which is what I think she was saying.

eh...i dunno. there has to be a hint of batshit earlier on for somebody to go that nuts.

people don't snap. you don't go from perfectly totally sane all the way to batshit just for something like a first boyfriend without an underlying cause/problem/defect.

i hate drama. girls are dumb.
