^^i had a doctors nurse call me and i missed the call and when i called back the doc answered and said he'd give the nurse a message to call me back but she never did

i flipped ab the biopsy thinking it was bad because they called me, turns out it was ok.

Put my kiddo on the books again, guys!

Silas is going under next Friday for two procedures. He will have a biopsy done of the transplant site to let us know that the thymus grafts took and will soon do their job. He will also have his cleft lip repaired.

For me, the biopsy is easy breezy, but the cleft lip repair has me all in knots. I am so use to how he looks and I don't want his precious face to change at all.



I think that he's so handsome and charming just like he is.

my dad really needs prayers for his business. he's been working at it 15 years and he still hasn't taken off. lately it's been getting better for him but he needs so much help from god. he goes to church everyday and is very faithful, but he's been depressed lately cause things weren't going well. i dunno, just ask for some help for him and i would be so grateful.

add my papa and mom to the list.

this is the 2nd time mom has tried to give papa a kidney. once again it didn't work.
papa became suddenly allergic to the anesthetic (the same anesthetic he had been using for years!) and died on the table for a few minutes. luckily he's ok and actually out of the hospital with no noticeable brain damage or anything.

but my mom's still in there.
they think she's bleeding.
not sure where.

^^^ this is an honest question - not dogging you for asking - i'm not a believer, but I do like to try to get into the head's of believers sometimes. In situations like that, I honestly want to know what you expect prayer to do for your dad? Do you think that God will send business his way? i.e. he'll get into other people's heads and make them think "hmmm, i'd sure like some ___ right now, i think i'll go to that store that i've never been to before". Or do you want him to just make your dad feel better, even if his business is failing? Or, do you want him to somehow drop a bunch of money in his lap? These are not sarcastic questions, and I won't rag on you or anyone if you give an honest response.

I'm asking because I had a family member who recently was looking for a job, and she went on an interview, then after the interview sent out a big email asking all her church friends to pray for her to get the job. So, she did get the job, and this was taken as a sign that yes, prayer works. So in that case I couldn't figure out how the prayer was supposed to have worked.... did god intervene with the Interviewer and change his mind? Did the other applicants not pray hard enough?

it's been pretty crummy since last Friday evening...but please pray for the Proctor family of Raleigh. their son, Derek, and a friend of mine killed himself last Friday. I've been a debbie downer all week, and it will take months for his family and all of those that loved him to heal from this. especially my brother and his wife.

to your question above, in situations such as the one you describe, personally, i don't ask god to make others do what helps me, i.e. give me money or a job. i don't think that is what prayer is really intended for. rather i ask for god to help me help myself - in the case of an interview, help me sleep well the night before, help me be calm, help me speak clearly, etc. for those who are sick, i may ask god to help the doctors and nurses perform to the best of their abilities, or i may ask god to give the sick person rest and peace, or even assistence in healing of the body. dunno if that makes any sense.
