They're retards. I personally prefer filtered well water to any other.

I mean that they have said they don't mind the taste of their tap water and just use the bottles because it's easier, or something.
8/26/2008 12:06:05 PM
i hate that bottled water/well water doesnt have flouride
8/26/2008 12:06:51 PM
check out your energy calculator to see how much you use...http://www.nwf.org/energy/greencalculator.cfmi also hate it when ppl only drink bottled water...water filters are awesome these days and they have NO excuse...you can install one on your spicket, for goodness sake (for lazy ppls). i personally LOVE the water out of our fridge...it is filtered, but it's the best around. For anyone who cares, there's a new delivery business in Raleigh that delivers local, organic food to your house each week. They're called Papa Spuds. My boss uses them, and has only good things to say about them, except that they're kinda expensive.http://www.ecojoes.com/papa-spuds-delivers-local-organic-produce-to-you/

i hate organic food.in the last week i've littered every day. i saw a dog and kicked it.
8/26/2008 2:54:46 PM
it amuses me that people that are just cheap play it off as the reason they do it is because they are "green" as opposed to just a cheapass
8/26/2008 2:58:32 PM
8/26/2008 3:07:32 PM
I'd pay money to be anti-green.

Have you ever taken a shower in the rain? I have...it is pretty sweet!

if only global warming was real. then i wouldn't have to drive so far to get to the beach.
8/26/2008 3:14:51 PM
the only real value i see in going green is being more mindful of wastefulness and conserving out NONRENEWABLE resourcesthe problem are these bullshit "organic" operations and so-called eco-friendly products that are not only minimally effective at best, but many are flat out lies to the public and are meant to capitalize on a new marketin five years thell have moved on to something elseair dryers in your bathroom are not saving trees, paper towels are not wasting trees, organic/free range farming is almost completely a scam (except for the few who genuinely make the effort and they arent gonna last)if you take a small patch of land and manage it properly and wisely incorporate all methods of farming and crop care you can do better than these massive, mega organic farming operations and will probably be more sustainable in the long runits just a bunch of bullshit, all this movement has done is make the sheep completely narrowminded towards traditional farming, almost to the point of lunacy and drawing evercloser to physical violence

I don't know why we are back on organic rants, when we've already talked about how stupid it is, w/ some exceptions. OMG YOU CHANGED MY FUCKING MIND YOU ARE MY FUCKING SAVIOUR If you will take notice, most people in this thread are pushing locally grown produce, and some of us are growing our own. OMG YOU ARE A FUCKING BECKON OF LIFE CHANGING INFORMATIONAnd yes, we get it...most of the "green" you see being marketed isn't really.....DUUURRR

so im supposed to, what, not say anything?i consolidated my overall views of the green industry into one post just like the title saysi dont think you two know how a public forum works^um, that organic farming is a farce at best? that farming is best done using all methods of stewardship in a timely and cost effective manner, not just one half of methodsgenetic modification, selection, chemicals, observation, cleanliness, and biology should all be used[Edited on August 26, 2008 at 4:26 PM. I mostly don't give a shit.My car is a V8 with about 15mpg.I never take public transportation. It's slow, inconvenient, crowded, and has too many ugly/poor/stinky/crazy people.I run the air conditioner all summer and the heater all winter.I recycle in public places if a receptacle is within easy reach. I don't save anything for recycling at home.I don't compost, but then again, I don't have any houseplants or a yard to use compost in.I use water and electricity sparingly to save money, not the environment.I use paper towels frequently.I throw trash out the car window when no one's around to call the cops about it.[Edited on August 26, 2008 at 5:19 PM. I recycle.Don't use much AC/Heat or Light.I use cruise control and I drive a Ranger (~20mpg, nothing to brag about).I eat more vegetables and less animal products than the average person.I take 5 min showers.I usually let urine mellow in the toilet.I hand wash dishes.

8/26/2008 8:08:29 PM
it's a fad. Americans love doing something without doing anything. Most "green" people buy an organic cotton shirt but won't pick up trash in a park. It's like the yellow ribbon magnet folks who want to support the troops without damaging their car's paint.
8/26/2008 8:14:00 PM
Based on your input, you produce 10,929 pounds, or 5 tons, of carbon dioxide each year! It takes 437 trees to store this much carbon dioxide.Based on the U.S. average of 12,151 - 24,300 pounds, you produce less carbon dioxide than average.[Edited on August 26, 2008 at 8:25 PM. Reason : &]

my thoughts are that conservation never produces any electricity, gas, or beer. if i use a lot of that shit, somebody will make more since they know im going to buy it. if i dont use it, people wont make as much. look what happened with water rates. people stopped using as much, so they had to raise rates since they sell water and obviously weren't selling as much.
