Yep. Guess she should have locked her daughter in her room and never have let her out. Or, momma should have been on every date with her daughter.

Oh, I agree that the girl made some bad decisions. But to focus on that instead of other obvious flaws in Obama's crystal clean image. Come on... Or, how about this: if John McCain were buddy-buddy with an abortion-clinic-bomber, do you think the media would give him a free pass? I'll answer my own question:

I don't necessarily want Palin to say that.
And in terms of my rabid hooksawesque comments, this is my big thing.
I hate it when smart, educated women who tout family values don't handle their shit.
This isn't just about her daughter. She had a baby at 44. You're not supposed to do that.
There are gels, diaphragms, condoms, pills, rings, shots, implants, surgeries...a million different options for women...and neither she nor her daughter are responsible enough to use them. That's a problem.

Smart, educated women embrace the responsibility that comes with that right. It involves things like not getting pregnant at 43 or 16.

So women should subscribe to your morals surrounding sex and pregnancy? They can't decide what paths to take? They can't decide what steps to take to rectify wrong paths taken?
When your daughter gets pregnant at 17, you can say that all you want, and even hold a press conference just to announce that to the world. Let people do what they want to do if they are not harming anyone.
And you are one to be talking about "smart, educated women" taking responsibility.

That flowchart that Supplanter posted, is that true? Did she really do all that? Now that, that could have harmed the baby or her, so that was pretty stupid.9/1/2008 5:51:05 PM |

^^the point being that more real stuff in the realm of her supporting the bridge to nowhere, to her opposing views to everything Hillary stood for, for her opposition to the right to chose even in the case of rape or incest, for her recent comments saying she doesn't really know what the VP does so she's not sure she'd seriously consider it, and she hasn't really thought about Iraq might come out.
And the pending investigation into "troopergate" that was around since before she was picked as vp nominee will have her being deposed under oath in regards to this scandal during time that would have otherwise been spent campaigning.
I guess my point more broadly is that vetting someone after-the-fact doesn't show such good judgment. 9/1/2008 6:37:15 PM |

wtf is this? Plenty of women have children in their 40s. And at least those children will be born into a stable home.
There are increased risks with pregnancy over 35. The fact that her child has autism isn't completely unconnected with her age. That doesn't mean she's horribly irresponsible for having the child.

I can't help but draw some parallels between Palin's daughter and Clinton's affair. Both are personal incidents that find themselves in the public spotlight.
For those who say Clinton's affair should not have been a public affair, does the same apply for Palin? Why or why not?
For those who say that Clinton's affair should have been a public affair, does the same apply to Palin? Why or why not?
I am not trying to turn this into some 'But, but, but...Clinton!' shit. I'm just curious about those who may or may not see parallels between the two.

^^Online rumors about the daughter having given birth to Trig proved to be false, but caused investigations that brought to light the fact that Sarah's daughter Bristol is currently pregnant out of wedlock & they now announced she will now marry the guy that got her pregnant. The infant Trig will be the uncle of the baby Bristol is having rather than being a baby she gave birth to.
According to CNN McCain just recently found out: "Top McCain adviser Steve Schmidt said Monday that newly-minted Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin informed John McCain of her daughter's pregnancy in one of their "private conversations" last week.

Clinton himself did some moral crime, not his child. And then he lied.
Sarah's daughter got pregnant "inappropriately", not Sarah herself. And there has been no lying. 9/1/2008 7:39:56 PM |

. this new shit seems to suggest that theory is logically impossible.
so for the most part i think this should be a non-issue except for one point...
it just goes to show how retarded the abstinence only education that palin supports is. yes she cant control her daughter. but neither can teachers. sara is the person with probably the most influence in bristols life and unless we assume shes either hypocritical or lazy we can guess she told her daughter repeatedly not to have premarital sex and why. if that kind of strategy worked... well you get the picture. bristols life wouldnt now be fucked and palins family wouldnt be knee deep in scandal
and to everyone saying 16 is a great age to have a child i agree. too bad sara was 44 when she gave birth to her 5th child... and it has down syndrome 9/1/2008 7:44:23 PM |

This group is about to break 100 So Much For Family Values. Bristol Palin is Pregnant! http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=25759501863
This group is about to break 3000 1 million strong against Sarah Palin http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=70637055579
They raise concerns like:
Quote : | " * She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town of about 9,000 outside Anchorage. * Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest. * She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. * Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools. * She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change. * She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska. * In July of 2008, Sarah Palin became the subject of a state ethics investigation looking into whether she fired a top law enforcement official in her administration because he had failed to dismiss a state trooper who was involved in a divorce with Ms. Palin’s sister. * Sarah never left the country before July 2007 when she needed to first obtain a passport before visiting Alaskan National Guard troops stationed in Kuwait. *As mayor of Wasilia, Palin built - as her legacy - a $15 million multi-use indoor ice arena on land that did not belong to the city. It will cost Wasilla at least an additional $1.67 million to acquire the land which the town is attempting to pay for by cutting library services, postponing capital improvement projects, and raising fees." |
Nearly 10,000 strong & growing: Sarah Palin is NOT Hillary Clinton http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=22583199522
While more anecdotal than statistical, since this whole thing started with people online poking around, looking at these online sample groups shows that more people have concerns in a valid arena rather than an invalid one.9/1/2008 8:10:28 PM |
