^- We know it was big enough and high enough to be heard a long ways- had a shockwave associated with it to shake housesSo it was either a secret gov. test, aliens, a weird meteor event, or a weird weather phenomenon

Or a Pony.[Edited on September 7, 2008 at 11:53 PM. Reason : Those fucking ponies ]

Moron, I understand thats what I'm saying. It would be fairly obvious to anybody in the FAA or local airbases if it was a military aircraft. And most of them can't shake a house or knock somebody down from a sonic boom at 35,000 feet. If they are cruising on the deck, they sure as hell can, but it would not cover such a large fucking area. As you said, its too wide.
9/7/2008 11:56:30 PM
Oh i wasn't doubting or questioning you, just rephrasing what I said earlier in an easy-to-read manner incorporating your suggesting that it couldn't be a sonic boom.
9/7/2008 11:57:35 PM
I'm also a supporter of the meteor theory
9/8/2008 12:04:56 AM
wouldn't a meteor detonation that could be heard, be heard over a much much larger area? the atmosphere begins a looong way upi'm still thinking earthquake. one of the strongest quakes in american history happened in NC....[Edited on September 8, 2008 at 12:31 AM. Reason : wrongo. but we've had a few damaging ones in the last century]
9/8/2008 12:26:40 AM
9/8/2008 12:29:54 AM
^^ So a meteor you don't believe could happen, but you think an earthquake would cover an area that small and not be noticed by anyone else?
9/8/2008 12:31:07 AM
^^^ This was a pretty large area.I don't think it was an earthquake because it wouldn't have caused a single, large explosion sound.

9/8/2008 12:45:51 AM
nah its pretty on the money. i can shout real loud and be heard for about sixteen square miles on a calm night. my point is that they can be very focused on one spot
9/8/2008 12:50:35 AM
9/8/2008 2:58:22 AM
What's unbelievable is that someone has to spell it out:No planes are missing = All planes are accounted for = No reason to suspect a crash
9/8/2008 3:20:02 AM
could it be one of those weird atmospheric gas ignitions you hear about sometimes?like the wrong mixture and then KAPOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEE
9/8/2008 3:21:34 AM
so no one found out yet.cool, just keepin tabs.
9/8/2008 3:30:10 AM
It's Mother Earth reacting to ECU upsetting two ranked teams in a row. She was just a little off and hit the Clayton-Wendell area instead of Greenville.
9/8/2008 6:19:27 AM

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Maps/region/N_America.phpLast one this side of the continent was last Wednesday in Missouri, and it was only a 2.7. I think we can safely rule out an earthquake.
9/8/2008 9:06:09 AM
I'm sure that someone knows what this was, but you'll probably never get an answer.
9/8/2008 9:07:49 AM
9/8/2008 9:15:36 AM
It was me....I fell down.
9/8/2008 9:16:45 AM

9/8/2008 11:28:32 AM
it was definitely something ON THE GROUND
9/8/2008 5:13:22 PM
lol at nighthawk wanting it to be a meteor explosion so badly
9/8/2008 5:16:26 PM
we're looking into it
9/8/2008 5:17:37 PM
Im guessing a time traveler showed up sort of like in Terminator, hopefully it was myself from the future and he will show up with a sports almanac shortly.

9/8/2008 6:43:12 PM
rednecks + 55 gallon steel drum + oxy acetylene tanks is my official guess.
9/8/2008 7:01:48 PM
i bet it was black hole made by the LHC
9/8/2008 10:14:57 PM
My guess is that it has something to do with diesel fuel and fertilizer.
9/9/2008 12:21:08 AM
I bet it was somebody that popped your moms pantie strap
9/9/2008 7:19:14 AM
pretty weird that "they" haven't come out and said what the fuck happened.a shit-ton of people's houses shook like crazy and they have no explanation?
9/9/2008 9:32:56 AM
pretty much, yesWHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO HAVE AN EXPLANATION? WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE MYSTERY?
9/9/2008 10:00:11 AM
i dont see how it could have been an explosion and traveled so far like that. it literally felt at my house like the water heater in my crawlspace VIOLENTLY exploded.
9/9/2008 10:13:25 AM
If it was a meteor someone needs to find the debris. That stuff is money.
9/9/2008 10:27:16 AM
I was on the golf course in clayton when the damn thing went off in my backswing. Not only was I scared out of my mind, I was pissed and the proceeding errand shot.
