Ronald McDonald house takes tabs but pennies would be a way better thing to collect
aluminum is only $0.42 a pound while pennies are $1.38

Snopes says that the aluminum can pull tabs for medical treatment is an urban legend

the blog entry confirms that Ronald McDonald house DOES take them but they only make like $4000 a year on them... doesn't cover cancer treatment, only the cost of operating rooms for the families (at $40 a day per room)

unless the recycling center is nearby you may spend more money in shipping the aluminum that its worth - it would probably just be better to make a monetary donation

but recycling is always a good idea
