Demetrius Walker, the kid who SI claimed was the next Lebron, is close to decommitting from USC and is making an official visit to ASU this weekend for the homecoming FB game and the BB game

he's no Lebron now, but it'd still be a good pickup. Any reason for the decommit?

mom got a job in PHX, so now he might want to stay close to home

sounds shady, but apparently it's legit. ASU had totally taken him off the radar, but I guess didn't end communication

let's hope he isn't too cocky and is a good student...otherwise he and Herb wont get along

Harden is fucking sick... he might be the best player in the country if he can consistently go right.

I'm going to watch them a lot just to see him play this year...

San Diego State tomorrow night at 11pm

2nd meeting of RHSFC. first meeting was kind of a bust (only 2 members and one honorary member were in attendance).

Ill be rooting for Herb's squad, and I want them to do as well as my Wolfpack do. I may of hated his coaching abilities but I think he was a very sound guy and one hell of a recruiter. Much luck to you this season Herb and ASU.

off topic:

I think State will surprise some people this year. might just sneak into the Bracketology talk

well there's already talk of sneaking into talk.

after the UNO game though, i have very low expectations for this year.

Quote :
"5. Is the Princeton Club on the decline? In Grant Wahl's epic piece on the Princeton offense in 2003, he listed 26 (out of 326) Division-I teams running some form of the scheme. That's 8.0 percent, a 2.7 percent difference from our 2008 rate. It's also possible that Princeton principles still exist at the same rate, but the term has acquired negative connotations on the recruiting trail. Vanderbilt and Nicholls State, both of whom run Princeton-y offenses, reported theirs as "motion" and "five-out motion," respectively. And Arizona State, whose coach, Herb Sendek, figures prominently in the lede of Wahl's '03 story (for adopting the Princeton at NC State), made a point to say that Sendek is no longer running Carril's offense in Tempe. Sendek is just a motion-offense/3-2 zone defense guy now."

Offers from U of A, USC, UT, Memphis, Cal and he fell into Herb's lap. His momma got a job in PHX, he goes to HS there now and he wanted to stay there. Herb basically out-recruited Grand Canyon State and Maricopa CC. He was hurt a lot his first couple of years of HS. Hard to say if he'll be average or a star...

and apparetly he hit his growth spurt early and was 6'4" by his freshman year. they thought he might get to 6'8"+ so his coaches trained him to play the 4

so now he's going to have the skill set of a 4 in the body of a 2/3

perfect in Herb's positionless offense

just learned that Johnny Coy, freshman forward from the Kansas City area, will be redshirting this year

i guess his body just isn't quite there yet. but he was drafted by the Phillies and will be playing for the top-ranked Sun Devils baseball team. so maybe he'll take the Brackman route

21 point win over Pepperdine

Harden with 33 points and 11 boards

for much of the 2nd half, he was outscoring their entire team

he's a modern day julius hodge, a shooting guard who shoots 16% from 3 but 59% overall to go along with tons of assists.

I love me some Julius. saw him play easily 50 games in person. obviously very impressive

but....I think James has the upper hand and is still just 19 years old and he will be a very good pro next year.

up to #14

after watching UNCC play against App, i'm not too worried about that game anymore.

but I'm really worried about Baylor. they look damn good

then if ASU gets past Charlotte and Baylor, the championship game would be Wake Forest or St. Mary's. damn!

huge game against UNCC today. i see this as a trap game, looking ahead to much better Providence or Baylor. if they win this tourney, they should be top-10 (with ND losing, Texas losing, Oklahoma or Purdue losing tonight)

they need a big performance from James and they need to finally get the ball inside. Pendegraph and Boateng are primed for a big game, but they guards have been settling for pullups.

watch for it on ESPNU at 9pm tonight. we all remember what happened the last time a Herb-coached team played UNCC

ASU committed TWENTY turnovers and James Harden only made 2 FGs

and they still won by 29. HAHA. 4-0. Play the winner of Providence v. Baylor tomorrow night
