When it comes down to it, the president needs to be able to make sound and quick decisions that bebefit the country in the long run. He doesn't need to be "proven" on a battle ground. There are other ways to gain this ability.

Firstly, I am not in the military. Lots of folks in my family are, but I am not.

I never said it is the only way...I said a person immediately gets credit for military service in my eyes. A candidate with military experience automatically has a head-start on getting my vote than a candidate who doesnt.

both. I believe leadership experience gained in the military, especially during times of war is unique. a person who can keep their wits about them and successfully execute objectives in a constantly changing environment translates to ANY type of leadership situation.
