oh, and to the OP, I think weed is fine as long as you can use it in moderation just like alcohol or any other recreation drug for that matter. I've known people who completely fucked up there lives over drugs, but I know way more people who know how to use it responsibly. And this is all from someone who used to smoke, but got over it when it just made me tired instead of having any enjoyable effects. I have no problem with weed or its consumption. I do have a problem with someone coming on here spouting off about all of the "brain dead alcoholics" like his habit is better or worse than anyone else's.

I've never gotten a drinking ticket. I've never gotten a DUI. I've never had alcohol poisoning. I've never gotten in a fight while drunk.

Oh, and I can go buy my habit in bulk without having to worry about whether the guy at the grocery store is gonna rob me, or whether the employees at the grocery store across the street are going to rob me when I leave with my supply.

All drugs have their positives and negatives, none are better or worse to do than others, as long as they are done responsibly and carefully. The only outside information you need for your paper is this:

Choose a new topic for your paper that takes some level of thoughtfulness and creativity. Anyone who writes the "Should pot be legalized?" paper is simply branding themselves as a pothead. Whether that is good, bad, or indifferent to their academic image doesn't matter. It's not a new subject, it's not a new idea, it's a dead horse that has been beaten to a pulp.

Write a paper on something that actually matters, something that the research of might deliver some new knowledge and insight. Don't just tell your instructor that you think pot is cool. S/he probably is already aware that you think it's cool, as you probably exude the image of someone who is so into pot that they truly care about the effort to legalize it.
