Is it even possible to have a lower score than that 2002 audi A4 in the chart above?
That looks like the worst it seems it could get.

i don't really trust CR, i mean the '08 has solid red circles ALL the way down the chart and then their "overall rating" is a half circle.
but it goes to show you that audi is a different car then it was <2005 4/6/2009 11:04:18 AM |

God I hate CR's rating system. A vast database of educated guesses and fuzzy data, presented with meaningless symbols. Some cars are all-but-perfect apart from one gigantic outlay at a predictable amount of miles. Is that REALLY "unreliable?" Because to me, if you know a fix is coming, that is wholly fixable, has no impact on vehicle performance until the break occurs, and has a known cost, that sort of fix should be considered a "balloon payment" on a SUPER-reliable car. Like a 4th gen mazda RX-7's engine overhaul every 60-80k miles. By comparison, something where EVERYTHING breaks, ALL THE TIME, but for pennies every time... that's definitely unreliable, but why the fuck would you care if it's just so little? One of my best friends from senior year at NCSU had a collection of Fiats. I think he got one running right before the end there. I picked him up what seemed like every day to drive to class for about 6 months there. In my "dismally unreliable" Lincoln LS v8. CR can suck it. 5/20/2009 7:44:26 AM |

its all based on consumer complaints, if the ashtray rattles in your lambo are you gonna take it back for repair? yes, if the wheel falls off you kia are you gonna write a review on it? no you put the spare on and keep riding, its not cost or type, its numbers 5/22/2009 11:30:15 AM |
