i used to really love that place in college. i'd go every monday. but now it really doesnt have any appeal for me. the tacky shit all over the walls and the girls in short skirts gimmick is played out. some times i think getting old is a sense of things losing their novelty.

i was considering taking my dad there, i'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. he really loves rare beers on tap, but really hates that type of atmosphere.

finally got to hit up the saucer again, it's been too long, little 'fuckin done' celebration

place was busy as shit with all the beerfest folks hanging out, but was alright, and the first time i'd ever seen the towing company out in force, bad day to not pay your parking

June 6th would be the tentative plate party date. It's three better than 6-6-6.

Done... after pregaming with two Fat Tires and commissioning everyone to try to kill the bar's Red Oak keg, I'm feeling strangely fine today.

Madness? This is saucer!!!

Yep, had the back room to ourselves & the deaf kids... didn't have the heart or lack thereof to kick them out. I was the goofball called up there about 10 after some dude won a hat!

The got busted drinking on the job. A few drank a lot and the rest only had one or so, but the management (who occasionally drinks on the job) wouldn't have it. It's too bad too, they were nice girls and the place isn't the same without them.

So how much DOES each plate cost, and what do they do, just change the color of your plate already on the wall, or give you multiple plates each time?

Never been a fan of the saucer. Too much a creature of habit to care about fancy hangover beers...

Each plate costs roughly 600-700 dollars. Haha.

You sign up for the UFO Club, which is about $15, then you have to drink 200 different beers (3 a night max). After 200, you get a plate on the wall and a party to unveil it. Each time you complete 200 beers, you get a new plate, with a different background color.

You should try it out sometime. The selection alone is pretty amazing. Of course I would suggest monday night when (almost) all pints are $2.75, but it is very crowded, usually with douchebags and damn near impossible to get a table after 8:00.

No. But from what I've heard they are running out of space so when you earn your second they take down your first and give it to you.

I've been many times, but have never been interested in the types of people that go there. The one in Raleigh, we're talking about here...

Mostly TKEs.

lol.

We need to stand up to those phillistines and tell them we're not gonna have it. Then we can go to bars when we want.

you gotta be a member of the UFO club, but yeah, it's free. every sunday. they also have $2.75 pints on sundays as well.

*note: free = you gotta buy some beer, i think it's like $5. but you'd be doing that anyway. and it's 12 - 3pm.

go there and sign up.

ask the waitress for an application form, they give you a card that you scan at this little machine thing.

i would be willing to go to a tww brunch some time. i used to go, but had to sit by myself, sometimes with a book. it got sad, so i stopped going. but the brunch was always pretty decent, for not costing anything.

yeah what did happen new years?

The waitresses used to be really hot but then again i think it was the novelty of girls in short skirts that made me think that. however, i can say this. there used to be no fatties there and now theres one or two working and i hate when i get them.

anytime, man...we go nearly every sunday around noon/noon-thirty...usually there's 4-5 of us, sometimes just the gf and myself...always down for some company

i don't understand people who don't like saucer...i don't go for the girls (though they're sometimes very nice to look at)...the waitresses i've always had have been nice, prompt, and know what they're talking about in terms of the beer...we usually get one of the same few, so maybe that's it...i don't think the food's bad, either (i LOVE hot german potato salad and their sheboygan side-by-side)

a group of us will be there for the release party on thursday

i miss the saucer. maybe it's because i don't have a core group of drinking buddies to go out with, but it'd be nice to find something similar to it up here. (i'm sure i can...it's freakin ny. but finding it is the hard part.) i love draft beer sooo much more than bottled/canned.

Anyone else at the saucer last night see that guy get fucked up? This dude stole a purse from the table of girls behind us and tried to walk to the back (probably the bathrooms). But he got caught and this girl goes over and beats his arm and jerks her purse back. Of course this caused a lot of commotion. I asked her if she knew him and she said she didnt but he had been bothering them all night. So one of the bouncers goes to the back and looks for him. They bring him back and make him pay his tab. At this point my girlfriend and I leave, but when we drive back beside of it, they (two or three bouncers) are beating the shit out of this guy at the front door. I wanted to stay and watch, but of course I roll down my window and start saying shit at the guy so my girlfriend sped off. He was wearing a light green plaid shirt. Anyone else see this?
