in the forum TheWolfWeb, one user ReceiveDeath, started a thread asking all users to post in that thread at least once...the term "euphalo" was not coined till a few years later by the user hypaone(ReceiveDeath and hypaone still dispute who claims the term name to this day). Eventually this thread was epically and unjustly deleted off the board and with it, sprung an uprising. Headed by the user evan, a new forum was created called "euphalo" where users off TheWolfWeb could come enjoy a better and more relaxed setting.

it's understood that lot of the more frequent posters are the ones doing this shit, and the logic might be that if they are the ones who use the boards, then maybe they should have impact over content and extra forums. the whole, serve your customers' needs concept.

but speaking from the perspective of someone who's been here a while but doesn't post much anymore, that's partially because of this shit. it's fair to say that you might have more people involved if there was less bullshit. there was a time when padding was okay, too, but it filled TWW with garbage.

if the goal is to get a larger user community of people who are making this place worthwhile, then keeping drivel out as much as possible might help. that's just my opinion on the matter.
