I'm going to the U2 and Muse show. Glad to see both.

Though I've been reading set lists and reviews and while I'm not worried about quality, it looks like I won't be hearing the songs I've wanted to see live for so long (mostly stuff off Joshua Tree and The Unforgettable Fire, I want them to pull out Red Hill Mining Town so bad).

If you like All That You Can't Leave Behind, you're in luck.

gonna park at fairgrounds for free or something like that. haven't been to the CF-RBC area in a long time though. is fair parking still pretty much a free-for-all?

hey someone tell me what im better off doing getting the GA field seats or getting a lower level or upper level seat?

I dont really love U2 or anything jsut going more for the experience & drinking and to make the gf happy. Also i want to see a concert in C-F.

Is being on the field cool or is it pretty annoying? If i tailgate too long will I get there and be pissed because im standing 120 yards from the stage and a guy is peeing on my new balances? HELP

I don't think anyone knows. I bought tickets for my parents and I'm pretty sure they don't want to be down there with you people. I'll be in section 226 which seems to me is going to be behind the band even though it is advertised as a 360 degree stage. Bono will be walking out toward the middle of the field on that giant circle away from where I will be.

I have a feeling you will be loving every second of them when they are out there. I know I will even though I rarely listen to them anymore. If I were you I would park at 3, drink a fifth in 2 hours and be at the doors at 5pm if you get GA.

i was responding to the post above me... i've been a fan since i bought joshua tree new on cassette

i was at the DC show last night and will be at the Carter-Finley show on Saturday

if people are going to leave after Muse, good riddance... more room for the rest of us

--

regarding the field

i was on the field at FedEx Stadium, and i was actually elated that i hadn't had a drop of alcohol, because i would have had ZERO urge to leave my spot once i got there; be it to get a beer, some nachos or to go to the bathroom... the trouble involved in pushing through that amount of people simply wasn't worth it... i can drink any time

--

i wasn't really bowled over by the setlist (most of it was last 3 albums + the BIG BIG hits,) though they did play "unforgettable fire," "your blue room," "mlk" and "ultraviolet"

but GOOD LORD if it doesn't rain, that stage is going to blow people's minds

it's gonna be the largest spectacle in Carter-Finley since Chuck's red shoes

marko i was reiterating what you said

people are really selling tickets on craigslist

evidently the bitch on wral said she couldn't get tickets which i find hard to believe

i don't have the patience to see what the average price is

looks like some are going pretty high

everybody should skip the U2 show and come to the Hear Here: The Finale at the Pour House on Saturday!!!

Just kidding, but those of you that aren't fortunate enough to have any U2 tickets, come on out!

Some info for the show plus Inflowential's new video on the 88.1 blog: http://wknc.org/blog/post/6191/new-inflowential-music-video/

Walked by the stage tonight.

Even the wide-angle pictures don't do justice to how retardedly huge the thing is.

You really do have to see it to understand.

I don't feel bad for a single person in the stadium. There won't be a bad seat in the house.

The epitaph of this show is going to be the horrible traffic/parking situation. I have been taking calls at 96 Rock for the last 3 hours and people are royally pissed.

If I had gotten a ticket for around 35 bucks I would have gone just to say I went.

Everybody not only seemed impressed with the stage, but I now have 29340293490 pics on my Facebook newsfeed to show, apparently, just how impressed everybody was.

Great concert indeed. We had a blast. I mean I knew the stage was going to be big, but omg that thing takes up so much space. I read somewhere that if it were 2 feet larger it wouldn't have fit in Carter Finley.

That 360 video screen was tight. When it expanded to basically go from the stage to the top of the claw/ship I was like, "did that really just happen". This stage has some amazing tech in it.

As for parking, we parked on the grass in the University Club driveway, lol. I mean really, it's just like a game day almost. The walk wasn't bad at all and we didn't have to shell out any money for parking. That and while everyone else was getting pissed off trying to leave after the concert, we just walked through it all and drove off.

News is reporting that this is probably going to pump about $4 million into the local economy.

^^ Haha, I'm guilty of that. Every time the stage did some new random thing I had to get a picture of it. I wonder how much power it costs to run that thing for the duration of the show.

i kept wondering what the big claw things were for that hung from the top (arab13)

also i didn't think it lived up to the hype, was bono lipsyncing during a song or two? i swear i heard singing yet no mic near his face.... i also think several of the songs were out of sync....

no beer!
