This is worth bragging about:

No offense, eclipsi are not worth bragging about. I go to a lot of track days via motorcycle racing and occasionally cars are running on a different course. I have never seen an eclipse racing/ doing track days. I see plenty BMWs tearin it up. And honestly, something I see running on the track is definitely worth bragging about. Your eclipse would get ripped up on the track.... And most people having something worth stealing will have an alarm system on it.

The specs are soooo much better too:

Quote :
"the Eclipse Coupe and Spyder, which return in GS (162-hp/I-4) and GT (265-hp/V-6) trims.
Power: 121 kW , 162 HP SAE @ 6,000 rpm; 162 ft lb , 220 Nm @ 4,000 rpm;
Sum Up: A triumph of style over substance. "

Quote :
"The twin-turbo 3.0L puts out 265 hp, but the impressive spec is the 425 lb-ft of torque.
Power: 309 kW , 414 HP SAE @ 8,300 rpm; 295 ft lb , 400 Nm @ 3,900 rpm
3,999 cc 4.0 liters V 8 front engine with 92.0 mm bore, 75.2 mm stroke, 12.0 compression ratio, double overhead cam, variable valve timing/camshaft and four valves per cylinder S65

Sum Up: Still the definitive sport sedan"

Trust me, you will know its worth bragging about when you drive it.

M3 vs. Eclipse is hardly a comparison. At least pick something closer in price range.

IMO, the best looking eclipse was the late 90's model:

And hell, that chassis was available with a 2.0L turbocharged 4G63 and AWD.

I clearly stated Germans were the only thing better yet people are continuously saying that bmw x and bmw y are better cars. Even then, I beat 3 series' almost nightly it seems. I'm wasn't even trying to start a debate (justifying my worries) but if I was then that debate would've been vs non german cars.

Beat them at what, mashing the gas at a green light?

I had a new eclipse the last time I was in Raleigh. It has a pretty decent interior, and the trunk was nice. But it drove like a bloated boat. Handling was like driving a marshmallow, acceleration was awful, and road vision is dangerously bad.

I'm sure it's fun to "race" people at stoplights, but it would be garbage on a racetrack.

It's easy to beat a car that doesn't know it's in a 'race'! Hell, I do it in my Jeep all the time then!

If you're a novice driver, high performance sport cars won't drive well for you. You won't be able to handle them. Thats all I've got left to say...

While not a sports car the integra type r is an excellent FWD car. Just because its FWD doesnt mean it cant handle great. It cuts a ton of weight out. Anything light does everything better.

The Eclipse isn't even the "highest performance sports car" that Mitsubishi makes.

I thought Eclipse's were a "wanna be" sports car for chicks when someones 17 yr daughter is like
Daughter: "Daddy i want a nice sports car"
Dad: " here ya go sweetie!"

buys her an eclipse taht "looks" sporty and since she probably will rarely will get past 4000 she will not know the difference.

I remember I used to work with a guy at Sony Ericsson whose wife demanded that she get a 5-series. The guy bought a 3-series; got a 5-series badge from teh junkyard and the woman never knew the difference.

I'd certainly consider it higher performance than the Eclipse; I guess we can argue the merits of four door sports cars, but lets face facts -- it's more sporty than the Eclipse.

(DSMs excluded; those were baller)

Way to go Squirt, you quoted something and combined stats for the 330i's diesel engine AND the M3's engine. GG there.
