Do you not realize what kind of impact it would have on some people (with disorders such as Down's) if every single person out there started terminating pregnancies that had chromosomal abnormalities? Yes, some are very bad and will end up being fatal, but some are manageable. By just getting rid of every child out there with a treatable abnormality you're going to make a harsh environment for those already living with such a disorder. There are programs that will get their funding cut, not to mention the people with the disorders are going to feel even more out of place.

Have you ever met someone with Down's? Bringing someone into this world who has a disability doesn't mean they don't have a right to be here nor does it mean their life will be miserable.




Yes, thumper, let's tell every woman out there who has a child at an older age that she shouldn't be able to have children or to stop having children or to not even have a child of her own because she is at a higher risk for a chromosomal anomaly. Do you not realize that there are more women out there than ever of Advanced Maternal Age trying to conceive? Many women are waiting to have their children now-a-days due to having careers and just waiting a tad longer than others.


Furthermore, do you even know what the exact risks of having a child with a chromosomal anomaly is at age 36? Yes, it's higher than it would be within your 20's, but I doubt it's as high as you think it would be.

part of me is like...cool, theyre taking of them, they seem to be cool parents (from what i hear...i dont know)

and then another part of me is thinking...19? really? you felt the need to have 19 children? people used to have big families because child death was much more common. it's not really an issue anymore

but then this is no more "wrong" than people who chose to have none.

My kid sister has Downs. She's the best person I've ever met in my entire life. That kid is my motherfucking hero. Yea, she has a learning disability, but she is a good person who has never had a bad thought about anyone in her entire life. Which is more than I can say for Jaime.

I think there should be a test for two-faced bitches. Those are the people that should be terminated before they have a chance to come into this world. If I was pregnant and knew my child would grow up to be someone like thumper, I'd throw myself down 3 flights of stairs.
