Drama free here! Parents aren't doing anything, just started dating somebody and they ran off to the mountains till Sunday. So no SO family drama yet. Eating pizza, texting and grading.

my dad was having trouble opening a can of cranberries, so he told my mom she broke the can opener and they started yelling at each other. i walk over, take a look at the can he's trying to open, and read out loud "open other end" as it is written on the top of the can.

win for mom.

that is all kinds of fucked.

found out that my vegetarian sister is raising my 2 year old nephew as a vegetarian.

if he wants to then let him, but feed him what he needs now and let him make an educated decision later.

drama at Thanksgiving? people should be able to put petty shit aside and get along for one damn day and appreciate what you have. My dad had to have his heart shocked back into rhythm last week for the 3rd time and this is probably the last Thanksgiving where my mom who has Alzheimer's will know who I am so its been pretty damn nice to be able to be around them for a few days

But for fucks sake, give the kid some turkey on thanksgiving.

you people have fucked up families

The most drama that ever happens with my family is when we go to my grandmother's and she inevitably screws up the turkey. It's literally just like that scene in Christmas Vacation. I guess that's why we only go down there once in a blue moon for Thanksgiving lol.

Probably the drama next year will be occamsrezr and I trying to figure out what to do for Thanksgiving if we're living in Raleigh. He wants to do it just the two of us but I say he knows there will be a guilt-trip and a half if we don't show up at one of our family's dinners

I couldn't agree more; would you tell my brother and SIL that???

However, not having them there, as disappointing as it may be for me and other family members, probably creates less drama.

Today was very nice w/ my in-laws. Sunday will be great w/ my parents; it just sucks that my brother and SIL won't be there.

I guess this is how kids of divorced parents feel like? Though for me it's Thanksgiving/Christmas/birthdays/whatever w/ Mom and Dad...repeat w/ bro and SIL.

This does get me excited for one thing though, and that's when my husband and I have a house large enough (and a kitchen table ) to host holidays. I'm totally gonna do a holiday meal and invite my and his family. MWAHAHAHA! /Griswold expectations

Although, I'd be tempted to do color lights to piss the neighbors off.

This isn't so much drama as it is annoyance, but my dad came over with hisgf. Neither of these two people work and they basically live off checks from the government.

First of all this bitch is 5'7, 200 lbs and she comes over to my grandmas house wearing a SEE-THRU top. And she knows I don't like her (like the rest of the family) and basically spends the whole time kissing my ass. She keeps talking about how she's going to come see my house and how any girl would be lucky to have me and how I'm smart and blah blah blah.

Meanwhile she's ordering my dad around getting him to heat her food and fix her drinks while she keeps shoving grub down her gullet. I had to get the fuck outta there.

i can relate to this story as i have a POS cousin with 2 kids by 2 different men; she is in her 3rd marriage which is about to end and she has constantly put my aunt and uncle through hell.
she is only 34. last year my uncle had a nervous breakdown b/c of her. he said yesterday that he didnt think he would have to spend his retirement supporting his daughters family. i feel so bad for him

i am totally ashamed of her. i love her kids to death and i am surprised the oldest boy (11) is so well behaved and smart. There are a lot of things im not going to discuss about my cousins marriage with this guy just b/c i dont want my family judged for being guilty by association.

but yeah this new nephew is NOT from the mom of my first.
my brother has never been married.
not ashamed.

but i would never call kid a bastard.
never.

it's a child.
it hurts my heart

and im stoked for the new little one.

his new girlfriend also has a three year old as well.
he's my quasi-nephew, Kayden

Had a little, but nothing major. My cousin got pregnant with a new guy that she had just met. Not a huge shock or anything as she had questionable taste in guys. He's not a criminal or anything, just was not motivated to do shit. No GED, no license, no job, etc. Anyways everybody was a bit pissed at first, but got over it when it was determined the baby had a serious birth defect with only a 50% chance of survival. She made it and is a cute girl who everybody loves and we all got over the whole deal and she's 9 months old now. But my brother for some fucking reason is carrying a grudge about it. He has never seen or spoken to my cousin since we found out she was pregnant. So Thanksgiving was at her parents house. My brother showed up and basically stayed away from her and her fiancé and never even looked at the baby. His wife held her and was fine. But my brother really upset my cousin by basically ignoring her. I don't get it. He's fucked up along the way, as we all have. I don't know why he keeps going with this childish shit. So no hollering or anything, just "adults" acting immature.

Some mexicans a few trailers down set their shit on fire trying to deep fry a turkey.

The fire department off Springs road saved the day.

I'm thankful for the Dickle and Sundrop combo i sipped watching that mug.

Wow...

We've come a long way in three years. Happy to say the drama on page one is a distant memory. I now host thanksgiving with my parents, brother and in laws under one roof, and we've had Christmas together the past two years.

Our biggest argument this year was that my mom couldn't remember that she told me my cousin was pregnant with a boy

Grandma caught one of the stove burners on fire by adding to much oil to the pan while frying corn bread. Blamed it on a pot of corn that had boiled over. Mom told her to shut up.

There was a tense moment with the bro in law getting cock grabbing happy but it was diverted to energy spent playing rummy.

We never have any drama. We basically just talk sports and catch up on stuff and joke around. But most of our family is very close (both personally and in terms of proximity). So we see each other a lot, not just on big holidays. It was kinda sad though because my grandma was moved into an assisted-living home recently and this was the first Thanksgiving we've had where she couldn't be there.

And from page 2:

none, my family is pretty normal and doesnt have real arguments (at least not during the holidays)

had a disagreement with my dude over the rules of when you're down in football but I just dropped it because he's more stubborn than me

um....

thankfully my 9 month old pregnant friend who I have to take to the hospital did not go into labor today

my dog has fleas

we either have to tell the doctor to saw off our 91 year old grandpa's leg or else leave it alone so he can die

thats about it. I guess I don't have any actual drama to report since I didn't see my family.
