a) Any survey of homosexuals can only include out-of-the-closet, open homosexuals-- people who are by definition more sexually open than their closeted counterparts, and who are in turn more sexually active. You can't make any blanket statements about homosexuals as a whole; only open homosexuals who want to take surveys regarding their sexuality.


b) Society and government is actively making it difficult for homosexuals to live in permanent, monogamous relationships. Then jerks like eleusis berate them for not being in permanent, monogamous relationships.

? They study closeted homosexuals. Plenty of studies are done regarding MSM (men having sex with men). The participants define their orientations, level of outedness, and whatnot themselves.

This is true. Society and government do make it more difficult.

But men are still men. I don't know if it's nature or nurture, but it's no secret that many men are horndogs and typically bigger horndogs than women. I've known lots and lots of heterosexual horndogs whose behavior was only tempered by their difficulty finding female horndogs.

So, yeah, it's total bullshit for homosexual men to say, "We act this way because society doesn't accept us and marginalizes us into seedy nightclubs and online sex forums." Sure, that's part of it. But, come on, it's also because, like most men of any orientation, they're horndogs.

I realize lesbians have been accepted a bit more than gays, but lesbians still aren't wildly accepted either, and we haven't observed them getting it on like gay men. I think they get it on even less promiscuously than heterosexuals since the male horndog is removed from the situation entirely.

There are tons of exceptions to this stuff. I'm sure there are plenty of gay males (out or closeted or whatever) who haven't even had sex. I have one friend who is desperately looking for a relationship, and honestly, his biggest obstacle is not lack of community support or opportunity but sifting through all the horndogs. So, yeah, we're back to that again.
