you really are a simpleton, aren't you? this is all covered in our NC general statutes. Their property lines extend to the mean high tide mark bordering the water. If the beach erodes, their property line is the still the mean high tide line. If the state pumps in sand to build up the beach, they get that new soil and their property line is still the mean high tide line. If their entire property is eroded away, they lose all property rights until the area is potentially built back.

Why don't you do some additional research on this so I don't have to explain it in detail over and over again?

Municipalities can dictate that the rest of the beach is a public right of way in which case it does not make a shit what state law says about it, he could not be charged with trespassing.

When public money pays for beach nourishment, they typically claim the new beach for the public. I'm not sure "State" in the statute literally refers to North Carolina or the government entity (be it local or county)

Can any of you fuckwits read? To this point in the conversation between this vapid whore and myself and my wife, I was a bit frustrated she was being unreasonable, but we were in the process of going about our merry way. The rest of any of the posts I've made here are simply wondering aloud and hoping some of you will have an enlightened idea about tradition on North Carolina beaches regarding the public's use of private property. The title to the thread was mostly a joke meant to catch some eyeballs. It worked gloriously. As far as the statistics, a fair amount of googling didn't produce any sort of good breakdown of age/income/race and political party affiliation data.

Considering the fairly numerous amount of dog walking I've seen this time of year, it's a stretch on just those terms. Considering I don't live in her neighborhood, and hadn't actually walked that direction in over 2 weeks, and considering I have two recognizable dogs, she would be very very unobservant to mistaken me for some other owner she might think she had seen before in her neighborhood. Combined with the fact that she was clueless about why the Christmas trees were stored on her property, I think it's fairly obvious this woman had some sort of weird paranoia-like complex going on about her property that led her to accuse some random individual of leaving other bags on her property.

The only reason I could see someone leaving bags on her property more than once would be if they live next door or in the neighborhood, or if there happened to be a public access next to her property where dogs were shitting as soon as they hit the beach. There is a private access about 200 yards from her house.
