I'll be better prepared for tomorrow. Like knowing I'll be there all day, I need a jacket for the courtroom, I should wear socks, and that they put mayo and pickles on their sandwiches....etc. In fact, even though we can't stick with our original plans, maybe we can vegetate together in front of the TV for an hour or two tomorrow night.

It was definitely a better day. And my husband even picked me up for lunch.

Not to mention, my husband came upstairs to talk to me around 8:30 last night and I was already asleep. I didn't get up until after 7 this morning. Sitting all day listening to testimony is exhausting.

Surgery lasted 6 hours yesterday and things did not go as planned. The surgeon did a pharyngeal flap (unplanned) and buccal flaps to close her cleft palate. The buccal flaps did not want to be manipulated all the way into place. He decided to keep her sedated and on a ventilator to preserve her airway and allow time for things to calm down. She's in the PICU right now and has required a blood transfusion to get her hemoglobin up to go back into surgery tomorrow. Tomorrow the surgeon will try to move the buccal flaps into position and close the donor sites in her cheeks with a skin graft. We need all the prayers we can get.

To make matters worse, I'm not allowed to visit because I'm running a fever. I have some stupid lower respiratory tract infection that has me wheezing and coughing. I not only feel like ass, but need to be with my baby.
