The bullshit aspect of this is that in order to get to a point in which this question is in any way appropriate to ask, you have to already be in some version of a relationship with the girl. "What do you want in a relationship?" is never a truly viable line for someone you aren't at least dating semi-seriously. So basically, by the time we are able to really ask the question (and have any expectation of a real answer), we are already invested in the relationship on some level. Sorry, but it isn't that simple either. BEing in it because I actually care about you, like being around you, give a shit what you have to say, etc. Does not equate to being in it to make you the center of my universe. It just means that there are things about you that I care about in addition to what you look like naked.

Not every woman is necessarily like this, but most of them want to be the center of YOUR attention (not necessarily everyone's, but that isn't totally uncommon either). I will gladly listen to you, care what you have to say (most of the time, but will still listen just in case you ask me about it later), and treat you as you should be treated. However, you are never going to be more important to me than my family, and it will be a LONG time before you get preference over my friends (and even then, there are some that you will be on even ground with. Loyalty in friendship is a big thing for me.)

I would love to say that guys are simpler in this discussion, but I would only be sayin that because I know what *I* want out of a relationship. I am 100% sure that I am in the minority there, though.

Well shit like holidays are something that can be worked with. Thanksgiving with one, Christmas with the other, rotate if needed. That way you are still spending family holidays with both peoples families.
