^^in an ideal world we would all be that...she is just screwed up and her parents don't seem like good role models. I hope when you have children you teach them how to be an independent adult. true except for the not needing affection. although it is too late now, given her parents "behavior" she was definitely in need of a decent upbringing and continued support system

You have to be 16 or 18 to:
-drive (most places)
-vote
-join the military
-buy tobacco
-have consensual sex
-strip or pose nude
etc....

...but apparently, a child's parents can consent to their child possibly becoming a celebrity and having cameras follow them the rest of their life.
