Because I've seen references that you gamble for a living...making your skreed against poors a little bit funny in that you are just as productive for society as they are.

what he does for a living has nothing to do with it. the fact is that he can afford his apartment, and these kids live in the projects near by, subsidized by tax payer dollars. What the OP contributes to society is more tax dollars than the kids or their parents, so I fail to see your connection

The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much.

they're subsidized because they don't make enough money to live on. these people are working the jobs that no one wants to do. what a load of shit to say that a gambler contributes more to society.

i agree that it's irrelevant, though.

#1 i dont gamble for a living, though i have in the past

#2 there is a lot more to it then asking them to leave. The pool is open for ~12 hours a day for 3 months. During that span i plan to be there 2-10 times for an average of 1-3 hours. Therefore the chances of problems occuring when Im not there (or even other residents at all) are very high

#3 give me a fucking break with the
dont make enough to live on" argument, then why dont they get a different job or *gasp* ANOTHER job. Youd think with all the broke college kids on here who live off $7/hr that the "dont make enough to live" argument would get shot down easily. Fine, dont let them fucking live, you know if they can't find another alternative. (which they obviously could if we didnt give them free rent, cell phones, swimming pools, toilet paper, and food)

my biggest problem itt is that people are insinuating that it is rallydurham's responsibility to fix this issue. in history, the way to solve this problem would be to bring your gun to the pool.

Fuck you pussy. He goes on rants about once a month about liberals and taxes. I've asked once or twice before what product he produces. My guess is he is a money handler of some form, so he essentially doesn't produce anything. The point being, sure, he makes income (unlike the poors) but it isn't like its a noble profession or anything.

^^ are you serious?

You dont have to "produce" something to be a valuable member of society.

I would say someone who provides an important SERVICE like flying an airplane is slightly more valuable to society than someone who "produces" a big mac from the freezer for me at Mcdonalds.

Whether I produce mayonnaise packets or service millionaires doesn't matter. I'm sure my wage is competitive with what it would take to replace me otherwise I'd be replaced or find a new job.

In the meantime let the market set the rate for what I do, not your bullshit opinion of how valuable my labor is.

You sound like a fucking liberal, no wonder you are taking up for the "poor"

So you are a money handler. Taking your 2 and 20 on this rigged economy, not actually adding anything meaningful if our Fed wouldn't be punishing the middle class. Hey, I'm not really hating on you. It's just a shame that jobs like yours wouldn't exist if the coporatocracy didn't exist and people could earn a reasonable 5-7% at their bank.

Lets be clear, I'm not taking up for the people that are troubling you. Not one bit. I just don't like your fucking attitude about it. You're nothing more than a leech on society, just in a different way.

im not involved with 2 and 20 thats for sure, i wouldnt have time to be here and i wouldnt be living here either.

And just so you know, the nominal rate of interest is irrelevant to the middle class and to my job.

Real return is always what counts.

You would be complaining that rates were too high if they were 15%.... You're just the type of person that complains about the current situation instead of trying to maximize their expectation..

But...you are a financial planner right? Thats the productservice you provide?

If rates went to 15%, the value of my home would plumment, but I'm paying on it at 4.25% and hope to be here for decades and my IRA would go up rapidly at those rates without me having to fuck with the casino that is wall street. I'd...love it.

if rates went to 15% then all of the stocks and bonds in your portfolio would plummet big time.

Also, it would cost you more if you ever had to finance anything like a new home, car, appliance, etc

Also, you are correct your mortgage payment would be fixed but the value of your home would plummet enormously which would put you underwater on your home.

Sounds sweet, where do i sign up???

My home value can mean revert and I still won't be under water. Rates wouldn't stay at 15% forever. They didn't in the 80s, the wouldn't now. So long as the money handlers are having undue influence on our society, we'll never get out of the whole they've dug for us.

What's wrong with having disdain for poor people? If I was paying money for access to a pool and people (presumably poor) tried to use it for free I'd be quite unhappy as well.

Since they changed the lease requirements regarding employment, a lot of poor people have moved in to my apt complex. Also, there is a hole in the fence next to the subsidized housing neighborhood. Things have generally gone downhill since June:
-fitness center got busted because a bunch of kids started using it as their play-room
-car wash is constantly in use (didn't use to be), occupied by hoopdies I've never seen around
-someone sprayed graffiti on the dog park fence
-all the poo-bag dispensers are empty or have 10-ft of bags hanging from them
-muggings started happening so often they hired a security patrol. I no longer let my GF out alone after dusk

Oddly, the pool area is in good shape and is not frequently overrun with kids. The 8-foot metal fence with key-pad gate does a good job I guess. Anyways, I'm moving out when my lease is up next spring. White flight HO!

Have you ever considered the hot girls have to go to a place where they can select from men who aren't soft batch little bitches that get pushed around by 12 year olds?

I actually think moving out is one of the best things you can do in that situation. People are non-confrontational by nature as evidenced by the OP. That includes the people who manage your apartment complex. As they say..."Hit them where it hurts...In the pocketbook." When you take your business elsewhere it forces them to decide what kind of apartment community they are going to run. It's in their best interest to clean it up and get more tenants such as yourself.

It's better than you taking on the problems of the neighborhood and running yourself ragged trying to fix issues that you didn't cause. I do recommend you make sure whomever you interface with is aware of your real reasons for leaving. It's important for those types of things to make their way up the totem pole.

We're actually slightly less valuable.

rallydurham would never make it as a career gambler, nor is he a skilled money-handler. he is simply not intelligent enough.

this thread also proves that he lacks fortitude.

the anti-liberal rants are not helping either. they are neither well thought out, nor well articulated.

this does not bode well for my opinion of you as a person. you really shouldn't care about my opinion of you, but lets face it, you do.

that said, i have nothing to add to this pool situation.
