I hate on the media for making a big deal about Vick killing dogs. Meanwhile, they never mentioned a thing about a pro athlete organizing events for the sole purpose of betting on them. I could care less about Vick killing a bunch of worthless dogs, but a professional athlete going to great lengths for betting purposes and getting forgiven makes me even more pissed off about the Pete Rose situation.

even if he wasn't gambling on football, gambling in general is not permitted by NFL athletes. Organizing a gambling event that should have resulted in RICO charges makes the events even more absurd. The NFL spin machine really outdid themselves getting the media to focus on the moral concerns of fighting and killing dogs instead of focusing on what the real issue was.

Truth.

It is not against the law to kill dogs. It's a shitty thing to do. A fine and a misdemeanor at the most. But Vick's prison time was for tax evasion for his involvement in the dog fighting ring. Everyone is just hung up on the dog killing part though because that is the bigger media story.

And nowhere was it ever even implied that Vick ever gambled on a football game. So I don't know where that is coming from.



The truth of the matter is that he is a despicable person. But so are lots of players in the NFL. As an Eagles fan, TDs = forgiveness. And a super bowl ring will absolve him from all his sins. Believe that.
