Fuck that. Shun Lee Palace across from Cotswold.

There is a Golden Wok here in Greensboro that is my favorite Chinese Take-Out.

The best place for Chinese in Charlotte is closed now it was Shanghai at Quail Corners, but Crosland wanted them to go Month to Month on a lease and they said f that.

Shun Lee Palace is good.

If you want good Mexican or Tex-Mex go to Cantina 1511 on East Blvd

If you are in SouthPark Montford is the best place to go for Nightlife and the cab ride back to the hotel wouldn't be to expensive.

I am checking out Paco's Tacos tonight, it's Tex Mex in Southpark and owned by the same people that do Cantina, Big Daddy's, etc. (some good casual restaurants in Charlotte). Will let you know how it is.

I'm not going to read this thread, but go to the Tilted Kilt. The waitresses there are half naked and most of them put out.

So here is what I did:

Went to some shady place with work folk called 5 Steps. Almost got shot, got to see a cool chick fight

Went to 2 places in Ballantyne. Not sure of the name of the first place, "Something" Tavern. Then went to Cosmo. Was offered blow by several people, including a pretty hot hispanic broad. Told all of them that if it was 5 years ago, I would have gladly taken them up on the offer.'

All in all, I am not a Charlotte fan. Can no one drive the speed limit in that town?

5 Steps Down

Shun Lee is cool and everything, and I remember Great Wall when it was on Montford back in the fucking DAY but Bao Ding is the shit

I am glad nobody has claimed PF Changs to be the best, since its good but just some chain bullshit

So the whole reason I was there was to work an event at Festival in the Park. It reminded me of a hippy version of the State Fair. Did you go?

but seriously, i never realized the yayo game was so strong in Charlotte. I think I could get an 8 there easier than a nickle of weed.

I had fun at The Forum on Friday night, and Dharma Lounge was pretty cool when I went Saturday. Dharma would've been a lot more fun if I had any energy left.

haha hippy version? What single thing there seemed "hippy" to you? Aside from MAYBE a bluegrass band and some clogging? It's like a miniature state fair.

It's just gotten more corporate with shitty fair food and shitty cover bands. There's still a few redeeming qualities about it but it's far from "hippy" whether that be good or bad.

Also this is why America is fat.

I wish I could remember the name of the bar I went to after Baileys wedding- it is down the street from the fire fighters old training center (hell, they may still do training) with the big reception hall and what not

So funny seeing people that live in Greensboro, Durham, Raleigh, bumfucknowhere talk shit about Charlotte.

You people need to work on your inferiority complex. I'd probably be all "charlotte is poop" too if I was stuck in a shittier place and wanted to make myself feel better, but at least act like you are trying.

The only thing those places have over Charlotte is that either:

A) you are from there
B) you went to college there

^^^that sounds right (the area that is)

it was a cool bar that really had like 3 bars in it, and huuuge patio/outside/cornhole set up. It wasn't downtown (at least it didn't feel like it- had a very neighborhood-y feel to it)

can't remember the name of it, but they hooked it up for us, and didn't seem to mind that one girl in our group threw up and another guy in the group flat out passed out in his seat
LivinProof78 might know the name- she was there too

some chicks i know rave about Jack's karaoke night on Thursdays. i've yet to take them up on the offer though.

Philospher's Stone is nice, but seems like a strange place to choose for post wedding debauchery.

^^we were already wasted (I think most everyone just had 1 or 2 more beers at the most), and it does have that cool big outdoor bar area (and the reception was at the palmer building place so we were just up the street)

is anyone familiar with Madison's Bar and Lounge? is it downtown? any decent hotels within walking distance?

Madison is a small but fun place. I enjoy it. It's uptown in the middle of much of the bar scene. Hotels nearby...umm I would consider any hotel uptown to be nearby as the center city isn't all that big.

Is there anything worthwhile near the airport? Friend of mine has an 8 hour layover there today. I know there's that little aircraft museum on the grounds but that won't take much time.

If I had 8 hours to blow, I'd take an uber or taxi to either:

The whitewater center. Walk around, have a beer and lunch on the patio, etc.
Old Meck Brewery - again, pizza for lunch and nom on beer cheese and pretzel and beers, watch tv for a bit.
Uptown - walk around and do shit

Really just depends on whether you friend has been to Charlotte before, what he likes, etc. 8 hours is enough time to do whatever he wants.
