Yes, there are plenty of exceptions, but generally during most episodes nobody remembers or cares to mention that Kenny has died before.
Of course, there was the episode at the end of season 5 where he really did die... and came back at the end of season 6. 11/11/2010 1:21:34 AM |

They had the Kenny rebirth thing somewhere in the 4th or 5th season. I'm thinking like the 52nd episode because they referenced a specific number of times Kenny had been killed which equaled the number of episodes in the series up until that point.
I wish they'd have Kenny out of his orange hoodie for at least a little while. 11/11/2010 2:45:52 AM |

yeah i knew exactly what they were referencing
it's not really THAT episode per se, but just the cliche of the cute kitty from all those types of shows they were referencing. i don't think it was that difficult to get. 11/12/2010 3:48:49 PM |

Yeah, I know. I meant as a regular character in a set number of episodes. If the coon & friends trilogy taught us anything, it's that Kenny is a bad ass. It'd be cool just to have him 'out there' and not just a mumbler of censored words and a death medium.11/13/2010 2:15:25 AM |

Quote : | "The producers of the animated hit, including Viacom and Comedy Central, are being sued for allegedly ripping off a copyrighted music video for the viral phenomenon "What What (In the Butt)." The video was produced by Brownmark Films based on a song by Samwell. Released in 2007, it became a massive hit and was featured on PerezHilton.com and VH1's Best Week Ever. The video has been downloaded over 33 million times on YouTube. According to the site, it's one of the most watched music videos of all time. In 2008, South Park aired a re-creation of the video in the episode 'Canada on Strike,' featuring the "South Park" character Butters in place of Samwell. On Friday, Brownmark Films filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Wisconsin, alleging that the infringement is "willful, intentional, and purposeful, in disregard of and indifferent to the rights of Brownmark." Brownmark is seeking a permanent injunction and maximum statutory damages. In response to the lawsuit, Comedy Central sent The Hollywood Reporter its response: "Courts have consistently recognized that parody enjoys broad protections under the First Amendment and the Copyright Act. We believe 'South Park's' parody of the 'What What (In the Butt)' viral music video...is fully protected against any copyright infringement claims under the fair-use doctrine and the First Amendment and we plan to vigorously defend those rights." Curiously, in a 2008 interview with Brownmark founders Bobby Ciraldo and Andrew Swant on the website blogcritics.org, the duo said they were "completely surprised by the 'South Park' homage" adding that they "sent Trey and Matt a thank-you e-mail the next day."" |
hmm, any know season and episode number for this one in question? gonna go find it and watch it for giggles.11/17/2010 9:28:52 AM |

are you fucking kidding me? south park has more hilarity hidden in cartman's fat rolls than this whole video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbGkxcY7YFU
that video SUCKS...
now to watch the south park episode... -----------------
ok butters' version is just a little funnier because we know more about butters but it sucks equally as much.
they obviously meant it as a parody. he said what's something on the internet that everyone loves that makes lots of money? then they made this video. it's obviously a statement. they don't get why people love this ridiculous video but know it will get views. they didn't even produce a full video - it's very short. and it uses the same visual elements for easy identification with the original that they are making fun of.
they should win the suit.

Sounds like a bloodsucking lawyer approached the Brownmark guys and said "Remember that South Park episode from 2 years ago you liked? I think we can make money off of it."
Seriously. If they didn't have a problem with it back then, what kind of "damages" can they claim now?
Reminds me of the end of the "Trapped in the Closet" episode... 11/17/2010 11:20:42 AM |
