What the eff?!

I went to the site, registered, selected my four boxes of coffee, put the coupon code in, saw the discount (two free boxes), filled in all the payment crap, "placed my order."

Then the website hangs, spits me back to the homepage (with items still in my cart). I didn't receive a confirm email, so I tried to place the order again (using said coupon) and it spits back to me that it's already been applied to this order.

?!?!?!

?!?!?!

And now I've had to fill out a friggin' feedback form about it, which should take, oh, about five weeks to get a response.

Argh....I'm going to have some coffee and settle down.

So I called Keurig up and talked with a girl and she squared it away. 96 k-cups of yummy goodness coming my way for $27.80. That's about $0.29 per cup, which is a little more expensive if I used My K-Cup for my own coffee (Hawaiian Isles at $3.99/10 oz). Once this batch is done, I'll have to look some other places for the cups, or just wait until the HI is back at $3.99.

I'm hoping you are kidding, but, you just don't put in a Kcup and it will put hot water in the cup in less than 30 seconds.

^^ caribou's is pretty solid. we get an 80-count box of that stuff ever now and then, and it lasts quite some time.

don't have many suggestions as far as flavored goes, though. we're very plain coffee drinkers

I used mine for the first time in ~1.5 months today and it shot coffee grounds and coffee every which way but in the mug. I opened the k-cup holder and grounds were all inside the mechanisms...
i cleaned it out which took forever and figured since it had been sitting for so long i should descale it... i descaled it with white vinegar, rinsed it out, and works like a charm now

A couple weeks ago, I went to brew a cup of coffee and did everything as I normally do. However, when the coffee started pouring into the cup, instead of a straight stream of coffee, it was pouring everywhere. When I opened the k-cup holder, coffee grounds were all inside the machine.
I figured I needed to clean it out really well and descale it. I descaled it, cleaned it well, and it worked fine for a couple days.
Then it did the exact same thing...coffee grounds everywhere inside the k-cup holder and a wasted k-cup.
I cleaned it again, much more thoroughly this time, paperclips, etc...
This morning, it did the exact same thing.

I called Keurig customer service and the lady asked if the foil on the top of the k-cup was puffy. I looked and they are a little puffy, but nothing major.
She stated that sometimes pressure builds up in the kcups and when you put it in the machine and close the lid, the top needle punctures it first and it causes coffee grounds to spray out everywhere.
She suggested that I push the kcup down manually with my hand so that the bottom needle pierces it first and empties the pressure, then close the lid down on top.

Anyone had any experience with this before? I'm going to try it in the morning because I don't want to try it now and waste a kcup.

^^We had an issue with our work machine, the little o-ring that seals the top needle fell out and shit would leak, and generally make a mess. We ordered a new o-ring and were good to go once we fixed it.

My mom has one, first time I'd seen one. Definitely stupid convenient, but I grind my beans fresh right before brewing and there's just no replacing that. But I also drink coffee straight black so immediate freshness is definitely noticeable

In fact I think I'm gonna make some right now

^^^I broke down and got a superautomatic for the office. A few months ago, I bought a pack of K-Cups to use with my coworker's Keurig before buying my own, and really was unimpressed. When I saw the Saecos for $250...hard to beat.

I got the Vienna which is now up to $279. Excellent coffee and super convenient. Whole bean is way cheaper than K-Cups so I figure I will break even within the year. Especially since I think one of my coworkers will probably buy beans in exchange for my sharing the machine with him.

I maintain that drip coffee is not real coffee, at least not really good coffee, but I find the keurig stuff especially bad.

So mine starting leaking over a year ago and I was to lazy to try and find the receipt and go through the (what I thought would be) customer service runaround. Well I called them last Friday and after simply telling them the serial number on the machine and what was wrong with it they sent me a new one even though it was a year out of warranty. Arrived yesterday via FedEx. A+ in my book. I'm just kicking myself that I didn't call a year ago.

my parents have one of these and they're started using a toothpick to pre-punch the hole because apparently there's a chance the pressure from puncturing it will shoot stuff up the spout and fuck things up.

Yeah the Keurig stuff isn't all that great, and I wonder about how many chemicals you're consuming from the hot water interacting with those plastic pods, but some days it's definite better than nothing. I'm thinking of getting some of the Swiss Miss pods to use in the Keurig we have here at work.

I thought about reusable cups too, but I have an actual... coffee pot, and an espresso kettle (I have too much shit) so it seems odd to me.

Why would you think about reusable k-cups if you have an... coffee pot and expresso kettle

I ordered a 2 pack of the ekobrew cups from amazon.com for $25

for $3.75 and a $20 coffee maker, I can make about 80 cups of great coffee.

These things just seem like a waste of money.

I got a free Keurig from a friend because it has a really loud pump and they just bought a new one instead. I wonder if the company will replace it for me?

I brought it to my office and since I'm the only coffee drinker, it's awesome
