Complete waste of time, not doing another Black Friday unless its a big ticket item, and if it is urban camping is the plan.

People spread out, so it's not terrible once you get inside, but it's the parking that's the huge bitch to deal with. Once you get into the deck, your ass is stuck until you find a space or can weave your way out to leave.

someone could've told you that earlier, they were just being dicks and didn't. if you aren't there by 11 the previous night forget about the big ticket stuff. for some reason bb is the worst for long lines, even though there are usually better deals elsewhere

Is my preconceived notion correct that those who get up at 2am to wait in lines on this day are the lowest common denominator of the human race?

I mean I've never done it so I really don't know... I just go by what I see on the news and there always seem to be some awkward dust up between two fat redneck ladies with shopping carts..

they do it mainly for the kitchen and bedroom stuff....and the $0.98 poinsettias. they don't care about TVs, routers, game consoles or shop-vacs

and they were back home, and asleep, by 8:45am

A lot of the people go out there early for the excitement of being involved in this traditional mad rush for deals. I went out at 5am this morning for the first time ever, and i enjoyed the experience.

^^ ha, I was down in the wonderful town of Farmville for Thanksgiving and I think half the town had plans to be at the Greenville Wal-Mart around midnight...

As for me, I'm dreading heading into Target (N. Hills) in a couple of hours for "recovery duty".

I went to best Buy at 10AM and they still had a bunch of the $99 Nooks, but a women came in and grabbed the last three while I was looking at them, haha.

Besides a few high-ticket items, there weren't many deals. The after Christmas sale is way better. If anything they'd jacked the prices up on video games (60 dollars for Modern Warfare 2).

Played with Galaxy Tab, Nook Color, and Droid X. All were awesome.

i started doing black friday last year, mainly for the insane rush. target is the best, because they space everything out around the store.

this year i got the simpsons seasons 3-12 and mad men seasons 1-3.. saved $160 at target + $10 gift card.

So I work in retail, and I've never shopped on black friday. I hate people enough as it is. I just don't get the mentality. I can probably find the same price or within 10% online at any time of the year without dealing with thousands of douchebags. Please, someone explain the attraction to me.

yeah I went to target about 1145ish-pm last night and waited in line to score one of those 300 dollar 40in LCD TV (1080p). When the doors opened at 4, I rushed in, was the second one to the register and was out in less than 5 minutes flat.

Then I came back home, setup the TV in the bedroom, watched it while I went to sleep. Then woke up at about 1030, hit up guitar center at 11, and was back home before noon.

All of my shopping done today in 2 trips. Awesome.

I hit up the Tanger outlets in Myrtle Beach on the way back to Charleston a few hours ago and got some ridiculous deals on clothes. You go to the Tanger outlets on a regular day and it's just like going to sale racks in regular stores, the shitty clothes for not that great prices. But they really do it up on Black Friday. I got a few gifts and picked up a few things for myself and probably didn't spend over $200...would have been well over $400 on a non-black Friday day.

But I won't do that wait-in-line at Best Buy bull shit. The outlets, however, are worth if it you need a bunch of clothes.

^^ I was the first person out with a tv. It didn't hit me until I had to walk by all of the people hopelessly waiting (all the tvs were gone) that "I might get stabbed tonight."

^ I was second one out of target in brier creek with a TV. I also thought, shit, I'm gonna get stabbed here in just a minute. I had parked close to the entrance, so there was a bunch of people around.

still though, I've never done "black friday camping" before, so it was kinda cool to have that experience. OH WHAT A RUSH when I got that TV in my hands and I made my way to the cashier all happy and shit, like a retard with a doughnut.

^exactly the same way I felt. It was kinda cool because I had never done it before. I talked to a bunch of random people, and watched a couple movies on my iPhone. It didn't feel like 4 hours.

hahaa like I said i will not do this again.

Didn't get the laptop last night but 30 mins ago it popped up on slickdeals. Jumped on it and 15 mins later it is OOS.

shipping was $15.00, and to get one for $15.00 more and not wait outside for 5,6,7 hours....TOTALLY worth it.

The Mebane Tanger Outlet Midnight Madness was awesome - felt like the fair based on the size and composition of the crowd. 60% off everything at Cole Haan was the star of the show.

exactly, it didn't feel like 4 or 5 hours, it went pretty fast. I did some reading, bullshitted with the other people in line, listened to people give status reports on the craziness going on at walmart, khols, etc.

Also, people kept driving up and asking "what is on sale, why are y'all here?" and no one would say shit about the sale, it was hilarious.

Then the drunk people showed up, and they would do the drunk "woohooo" as their DD drove them by.

It definitely was interesting. I will not rule out doing it again.
