For those of you with wideband or extreme, I would appreciate you running the speedtest at ndt.ncren.net, sending me the results, and if you dont mind, your IP address. I am trying to connect the dots for the engineers at Time Warner. I need your IP so they can determine how your path differs from mine. 3/24/2011 4:14:36 PM |

Could some of you tell us what prices you are paying? I was quoted $77.95 for the 30/5 and $99 for the 50/5. I can't get a rep that will give me any promotional price so I may have to go with the full price.
Thanks. 3/29/2011 3:48:40 PM |

I'm paying 54.95 for RR now and when I just called to order I was told 30/5 was $20 more and 50/5 was going to be $99 more. Is that right, $150 for 50/5? 3/29/2011 5:57:23 PM |

So I finally got Extreme being installed tomorrow after going through 4 reps. None of them seemed to know anything about a promotion but the rep I talked to last went to his supervisor and they gave it to me.
$54.95/month for 12 months $57.95 one time install fee
Now my other friends called and the reps were not giving them the deal, but then my friends gave them my address to see I had a promotion and they got the same rate. 3/30/2011 9:49:59 AM |

speak of the devil. I was able to make an appt for tomorrow for an install off Lorimer Rd. So if you are in that area, give them a call.
(also, dumb question time, is putting the new TWC modem in bridge mode what I will need to do to continue using my Airport?) 3/30/2011 1:29:24 PM |

They bring you a new box. Ubee piece of shit. Ask the TW junkie who delivers it to disable wireless and turn it in bridged mode. If they look at you like you're retarded, call TW support, tell them you want to speak to Tier 3 for a hardware change on your modem, and they will do it. You can see the link above to turn on bridge mode, but I don't think you can alter the wifi without calling. Also, some dude told me (this guy was a douche so take with a grain of salt), that if TW caught you logging into their device they'd ban you for life. So, pick your poison.
Anyone taking bets on when TW will start BW capping?

I'm downloading from the newsgroups at 3.783 MB/s though, so I don't know why the test from NCREN is so much lower.
Just used this link to change mine to Bridge Mode. http://192.168.0.1/TlModeChange.asp
If my link doesn't work check out http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r25524438-Ubee-DDW3611-Bridge-Mode- about 3/4 of the way down and it should take you to the right page.]

the guy that came to install it didn't have any idea what he was doing, but he was super nice. i basically walked him through it, haha.
he did let me copy the install guide that they give the techs, though.

nothing in there we didn't already know, but interesting nonetheless. i think it's particularly interesting that there is no mention of the purported "admin" account, just the user/user one. 4/3/2011 12:29:45 PM |
