Reasons why sylvias was awesome:

-awesome pizza
-he would routinely open up his restaurant to me in the morning before my classes, and would cook me breakfast
-dude was a good guy, and a good guy to talk to. Fucking hilarious, B.
-he would let me park behind his restaurant
-whenever I went there with a girl, he would look at me with this shit eating grin... then give us free pizza

They were on the property all day when I was there.

My very last year of State I was living in Durham and commuting to take my last science class at State, and instead of me buying a $300 parking pass for one class for teh semester, Sylvia let me park behind his car before/during/after my class. He never asked me to help out with business but I always made sure atleast twice a week I would get buds to go eat there.

I cant say enough good things about the man, he was like a really ass uncle who looked after you no matter if you were blood relatives or not and I for one greatly appreciated that!

A really cute girl sat down with me once at Sylvias, and I was such an oblivious idiot I ignored her presuming she didn't want to talk to me. And when she got up to leave, it was very clearly obvious that she was upset that I didn't talk to her. To this day, that is one of my biggest regrets

^ huh? I'm of Indian descent and he was always very nice to me. It's one of the reasons i liked the place so much. I can see him being surly to someone who is too particular about what they eat.

he got mad that she blotted her pizza with a paper towel in front of him because it was greasy, or something like that. he started yelling at her that she was ungrateful to be allowed in this country and should know better manners because she was indian and wasn't being a good little indian girl. it was crazy because she is totally non-confrontational, and overly sensitive about what people think about her. she wanted to know why he was being mean to her and he called the cops saying that she was getting out of hand and was a danger to him and his customers. it was ridic.
