I've noticed most self-proclaimed nice guys are, well, losers that girls don't find entertaining or otherwise attractive enough to take interest in. That or they have interest in said nice guy but he never makes a move.

I say "most" because there are guys that do have a good mix of 'nice' and 'asshole' that girls find entertaining and worthwhile.

The problem with a lot of nice guys is they know they are and use it as a kind of crutch. They think, "I'm too nice and all the girls just want an asshole, so I'll never get anywhere," and they don't go for the girls because they don't want to get rejected or think it's pointless. Then the fact that they never get the girls serves as evidence in their minds that they are losing out because of being nice. But they are mostly losing because they aren't actually playing.

The notion of nice guys and assholes is so overplayed anyway. There is certainly a medium to where you can be a nice person and still have no problem finding and keeping a woman. The type of people that you guys seem to be pigeonholing as nice guys are probably the zero-confidence, overly shy types who are just so amazed that they found someone interested in them (at least briefly) that they throw away all their self-respect.

I wasn't stating smacking a bitch up. I was implying that 'keeping your pimp hand strong' meant to not bend to every whim of your female counterpart. i.e. having a backbone, being a man, etc.

one of my hardest break ups was because i developed a backbone. my girlfriend's dad told me that I needed to have a little more backbone and not let his daughter get away with so much stuff. when i started speaking my mind and standing my ground she said I had changed and we broke up. For a while, I blamed her dad and was mad, but now I realize that his words were probably some of the best advice I ever received.
