have to disagree. glenn beck lost over half of his advertisers due to boycotts. sometimes they work, sometimes they don't 1/31/2011 7:52:27 PM

This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. If you don't like the business then don't do business with them. It's rare these days that a company stands on morals rather than money, I've always liked chic fil a because of this. 1/31/2011 8:48:36 PM

Quote : | "According to the BEEEBLAY, jesus specifically states that the old testament is NOT to be disregarded. So, while he never directly stated that stonings should take place to my knowledge, he sure as hell didn't disown those practices either. Hell, the new testament didn't even fucking exist at the time he supposedly existed. Also, if you want to throw out that part of the old testament then I don't want to hear a damned thing about "10 commandments" or any other old testament bullshit. Why is the OT even included in the BEEBLAY if it is simply to be disregarded? That seems very stupid, although admittedly the entire belief system is very stupid." |
actually, the bible pretty clearly explains jesus establishing a new covenant to replace the stuff found in the old testament. yes, the 10 commandments is in the old testament but 9 of those commandments are mentioned later in the new covenant. i'd imagine that you see it used so often because its a nice easy list and works well in sunday school classes for children. 1/31/2011 9:14:59 PM

^^I think you all are thinking in terms of % of the city population. As far as population size it is parallel to population city sizes as a whole at least for the largest cities. Atlanta definitely wins gayest city in the southeast.
Top cities by total pop 1. New York City 2. Los Angeles 3. Chicago 4. San Francisco 5. Phoenix 6. Houston 7. San Diego 8. Dallas 9. Seattle 10. Boston
Top cities by % of pop 1. San Francisco 2. Seattle 3. Atlanta 4. Minneapolis 5. Boston 6. Sacramento 7. Portland 8. Denver 9. Washington 10. Orlando
Top Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area by total pop 1. New York City – Northern New Jersey – Long Island, NY 2. Los Angeles – Long Beach, CA – Santa Ana, CA 3. Chicago–Naperville–Joliet, IL 4. San Francisco – Oakland – Fremont, CA 5. Boston – Cambridge, MA – Quincy, MA 6. Washington, D.C. 7. Dallas – Fort Worth – Arlington, TX 8. Miami – Miami Beach – Fort Lauderdale 9. Atlanta – Marietta, GA – Sandy Springs, GA 10. Philadelphia – Camden, NJ – Wilmington, DE
Top metro areas by % pop 1. San Francisco 2. Seattle 3. Boston 4. Portland 5. Tampa 6. Austin 7. Denver 8. Minneapolis 9. Orlando 10. Hartford
Atlanta definitely wins as one of the gayest cities in the southeast, and maybe in the nation. But I think using multiple measures gives you a better sense though. For example only San Francisco and Boston make it onto all 4 lists that use different measures. Atlanta does make it to 2 of the top 10 lists.
To the broader point of the thread, Chik-Fil-A is hardly the only company judged on this, there is a whole buyers guide. http://www.hrc.org/buyersguide2011/hrc-buyers-guide.pdf or http://www.hrc.org/buyersguide2011/?utm_source=Convio&utm_medium=email&utm_term=link-1&utm_campaign=BuyersGuide-2011

After we realized that gay people have money, we have decided to stop pissing them off. In another news, we also discovered that it is a good idea to water your garden if you want it to grow. 4/8/2014 5:00:57 PM

Because 3% of the population is worth bending over for. I'll admit though, it is a very loud and obnoxious 3%. 4/9/2014 7:11:50 AM

I've honestly thought their great business in the southeast was attributed to all of the bible thumpers hoarding to 'support a Christian business'..... 4/9/2014 7:47:00 AM

there was already a law against it, so they passed a constitutional amendment. what the shit else do they want, what can the state legislature do to protect it more than an amendment? 10/2/2014 1:39:21 PM
