>> I'm just telling yall what the event organizer told me....he's been running the event for 30 years...i'm sure he has a better idea than all of yall

1.) it's been said that it was never 8oz, but even if it were, i have no problem whatsoever with this
>> may not be this event, but other beerfests

2.) how does separating food from alcohol keep people from getting drunk?
>> forces people not to drink and eat right next to each other.......you have to walk aways to go back and get more beer

3.) i've never noticed this, but that's probably because i'm nomming on my pretzel necklace

4.) i've never once had one vendor recommend another
>> i said pourer (volunteers) not vendor

5.) how did they "create" longer lines? they've got more vendors than they did several years ago...i guess you could argue that there are more people, but i've never once been in what i considered to be a "long" line...they move fast
>> compared to before, yes......before you could be in and out with no lines

16 beers? seriously? i'm glad i'm not average, because it sounds like the average person stands around with their hand in their pants
>> "according to him" this is the average....for the person that claimed 100 samples? that would be like one sample every 2 minutes....I doubt you can be in and out of each line in two minutes

You can easily get one sample every two minutes. You have no clue what you are talking about.

yeah, really...i frequently try two samples from the same vendor and, as i've said before, the lines simply aren't that long...2 minutes is a long time when you only have to walk 10 feet

seriously? i rarely have to wait much more than 30 seconds, even if it is a "big" line... most of the time I just walk up. I easily sample more than 100.

have you ever even been to the beer festival?

She obviously hasn't or else she wouldn't have come in here spouting such nonsense.

Exactly. I get to get together with 5-10 friends every year, drink, eat, and listen to music outside in the spring and fall. $40 is a small price to pay.

I had a necklace, it was clutch. Saw a bunch of people with the cheezits

I went to the afternoon session, which is great for beer being available, but not great for night time hangover

all in all, this was one of the best beerfests I've been to in Raleigh or Durham. Seemed like less people, less lines, more food, and many more beer vendors.

mother earth was great

I had a hell of a time, but it seems to me like it was more crowded than usual. Still definitely worth it, can't wait for next year!

I apologize to all. There were hardly any wait lines. Brewers poured to the rim. Tons of people and beer vendors even with the flood. Great time and will go again next year!

Or maybe the Durham one? Which one is better?

yeah the first few hours of the evening session were pretty brutal in terms of attendance. While there were some wait lines, they didn't annoy me as much as having to squeeze by people every step you took. We were packed in pretty tight...

Overall I've always liked the Durham beerfest better. More room/more spread out, less people, and the setting doesn't hurt either

they should have the next Raleigh beerfest either along Fayetteville St like Wide Open, Raleigh Amphitheater, or indoor at the Convention Center.....make it bigger and better.

it was cramped like hell under the tents at Moore Square

if Durham has a great venue, time for Raleigh to step up

there is plenty of room in moore square... they just need more tent space.

Yeah, I kept trying to get out of the way after I got my sample but easier say than done. If they moved the stations just slightly further apart it would have been much easier. Probably would have been fine if the rain hadn't kept everyone under the tents. Great time as always though.

night session crowding is definitely attributable to the rain

yeah but there was still a big ass line for people to get in after drinking started... they should let people in an hour early and open up some vendors.
