Maybe I'm the only one that has always seen terp fans as the assholes of the acc (behind unc). Don't need to look at the 40 people that came to Sweaty Gary's farewell presser or the half empty stadium that saw us get our ass kicked in football this year to see the level of pride that school has in its athletics when they are down. Guess that only matters when we need a coach.

I would hope everyone would be rational and realize everything that is said about our fan base will be confirmed when the idiots spend more time bashing Miller than supporting our own program. But the key word is rational so there is little hope.

With the type of recruiting grounds that DC/MD are its a job that any coach would likely be interested in. However with MD losing a huge chunk of its in-coming class, and its best player then I don't see this as a job that whoever comes in will immediately succeed at. With the State job i feel like there was more of a chance for immediate success and a solid foundation for the program. We haven't done anything in basketball in over 20 years outside of some moderate success in the J.Hodge era and I feel like it was a surprise for us to even be rumored around getting Miller from the outset.

I'm very happy with Gottfried, the early returns on the schedule improvements, strength program, recruiting rumors, etc. and the type of staff he's brought in. However, if MD ends up with Miller after all the talk about how he wanted the NCSU job so badly last time around and would've 'crawled to Raleigh' for it then he'll be public enemy number 1 come basketball season.

If the feud before between State and Maryland was heating up because of the Yow-Williams beef, then this is really gonna make it bad. State fans, myself included, would be pissed and offended if he chose to go to MD after telling us no.

I understand it may be a better job, but it's still a snub, and I would want us to kick the shit out of him with Gottfried here to prove what a mistake he made. (Whether he did make a mistake or not isn't the point...)

Gold was saying that maryland is a better job than ucla, indiana, syracuse, uconn, michigan state and a bunch of others that I can't remember.

Basically he said the only schools ahead of maryland are unc, duke, kentucky, kansas, florida, ohio state, and texas. Maybe a few others. I normally like gold and ovies, but fucking a that argument was embarrassingly bad

LOL, he lost all credibility at "Maryland is a better job than UCLA, Indiana". I only read the Indiana part because I wanted to see what other bat shit crazy stuff he might say. Is he trying to argue that Maryland's area gives it some enormous recruiting edge over UCLA? Wonder if he realizes that tons of coaches and the entire Big East have their fingers in that area as well.
