You steam them in a giant steamer pot with equal parts water and beer at the bottom and cover each layer of crab with a coating of some kind of Chesapeake spice rub. Old Bay will do if that's all you have.

And what the fuck is this cocktail dipping sauce for crabs you all speak of? Sounds like horse shit. It's salted butter. Or as a last resort, vinegar is acceptable.

I also like crab better than lobster. But I think it might be because I've had a lot of crappy lobster.

Also, I love crab legs, but nobody I know is all that wild about them...so about once a year, I rapidly put down a pound or so of crab legs in silence while everybody else goes about a normal meal.
