LGA is the ultimate buzkill. It may be close but you are in NYC and transportation is a freaking issue. Cab lobby or what? 1/24/2013 11:30:28 PM |

wtf is your problem? 10 minute bus ride to the subway and then a 20 min ride into Manhattan. Do you prefer JKF with it's Airtrain and subway ride combination, that can take almost up to an hour to get into Manhattan? Or perhaps you would care to tell me how easy it is to get from EWR into Manhattan? 1/25/2013 8:27:52 AM |

My preference these days is to fly out of EWR and come back into LGA, and here's why:
EWR is the easiest to get to from midtown during rush hour (which is when and where I'm usually leaving from work) on NJ Transit. Note I used to hate this way because NJ Transit is way more confusing than NY, but after a bunch of trips out there I've finally figured it out. Also, and this may just be luck on my part, almost every time I go to Newark there are like no security lines.
Coming back LGA is absolutely the easiest place to get a cab. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten back to JFK around midnight and just stood there hoping for a cab while I deliberated taking the hour train ride. EWR might have cabs, but it costs $Texas to get back into NY 1/25/2013 9:18:28 AM |

Went to a speak easy in NYC this past weekend. It had a really cool atmosphere, but one tiny drink for $16 is just too much for me. I preferred McSorley's so much more. 1/25/2013 11:40:43 AM |

Can anyone vouch for Blue Ribbon Sushi on Sullivan's St in SoHo? I'm leaning towards checking it out one night next weekend (assuming I can get a table). 4/9/2013 4:38:29 PM |

So, for anyone who cares, Blue Ribbon Sushi was fantastic. 10/10 would recommend.
I also dined at Arturo's coal oven pizzeria. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. I'll probably want to eat there now for every return visit. 4/17/2013 2:10:56 PM |

I was seriously the only person in the security line at the delta terminal at LGA a few weeks ago
I was expecting a god damn 45 minute ordeal and it took less than 5.

^^I've been to Blue Ribbon in Park Slope, but didn't have their sushi. Love their food at Brooklyn Bowl though also. Would you say that their sushi is worth the money?
Arturo's is one of my favorite places and I'm always surprised at how little notoriety it gets.
^Come to think of it, over the past year or so I've had to deal with very few lines of any kind at any of the airports. There was a couple month stretch where I flew like 5 times and had 0 lines...like I walked to the front and turned around to take pictures I was so happy.
In fact, the worst lines I've had in the recent past have been in Charlotte

Bachelor party coming up and I've been assigned strip club detail.
I want to find a shitty joint like the clairmont in ATL
And a nicer place with hot women, but not at the level of scores or anything super high end.

I've heard there's a shitty one down in Tribeca near the Patriot, which is an equally gross dive bar, would make for a good combo...don't know the name though, sorry
Quick search on Google Maps says there's a strip club near where I'm talking about called NY Dolls

Spent a nice afternoon at The Frying Pan on the west side. the weather was perfect for sitting out over the water and enjoying a few local pints.
Also found a nice neighborhood bar, Ryan's Daughter, just a few blocks away from where my friend lives on the UES. Will definitely be back there again. 5/29/2013 12:08:45 PM |

How I miss you NYC
Rare Bar - smaller rooftop bar but you're not packed in like 230 Fifth STK House - rooftop seating Pizza - if you need to experience Grimaldi's - the one in Manhattan on 20th and 6th is never as crowded as the one in bk. I like John's on Bleecker St. Bfast/Brunch - Crepes Du Nord (2nd mention itt) Village Underground/Fat Black Pussycat - great live music Fat Cat - PBR galore? yes, but who doesn't like ing pong/pool/chess/free pizza/live jazz every once in a while?
I'm gonna stop right now before I start booking weekend trips 5/29/2013 5:17:26 PM |
