I am prob going to get flammed for saying this....But isn't this a bit creepy that everyone painting has been done and graduated from state a LONG time ago...painters should be youngins still at state.

I would like to keep this site going and if that makes me creepy then that is true. I know I would like students to join too but they are not the ones that volunteer to paint the tunnel. They don't care as much is my opinion.

Ya i mean I can understand that but i feel like TWW isn't what it was back then when it was actual student users.

Its the people who were a part of tww as students and who have grown older with it, including me....

its good to attract new people but i feel like there is such an age gap, not to mention the current users are all so negative and that negativity is a turn off for new students and they 1. become lurkers, or 2. sign up and then never use the site.

So what do you suggest, GG? Should the older users not paint the tunnel? We only have a handful of active posters that are still in school, and I can't think of anyone off the top of my head besides yuffie_chan that would go out there and paint for us.

I don't have a suggestion. TWW has been going down that path for years. TWWs culture has shifted.
I just don't think painting the tunnel will bring in a lot of new users that's all.

When I said "students to join," I meant join to the tunnel painting crew. I really do want more students to join the site and hopefully us oldies will get more out.

We have had more people sign up in the past few months than the past few years. It is pretty amazing. I do hope these new people that have ncsu student accounts start to post and find a place here on TWW. The negativity has always been here. It took EMCE, when I first started, to teach me the ropes of internet forums so that I would not always be made fun and say really naive things. I was made fun of ALL the time anyway and shot down ALL the time even when people found out I was a girl. I had to develop a thicker skin.

Well, everyone who goes has a good time. It's a chance for everyone to get together and meet, and any new users it brings in is an improvement. TWW is an NC State message board and the best place to advertise a college message board is on campus.

i agree, and frankly if the active community were more worthwhile to interact with we'd have more of the college kids becoming involved. Sadly, we seem to lack outward charisma...as a whole. In addition to that we arent very welcoming, which is contradictive to us going out and recruiting new users, no?

as i hinted it needs to be a shift of TWW's culture.

Maybe even a "new school" thread where only users that have joined after a certain age can post without having regular users posting.

Advertising gets them here, it does not get them to stay.
