I'm totally broke, and I tried to run some talk game to get money for hurricane party supplies.

You people have to remember to look at more than just the eye. Irene has the potential to be a pretty large hurricane.

^^True, but the west side of the hurricane is the weakest side...and that is the side we are going to be on. Plus, if you look at current satellite images (as of 6:41AM), the storm is asymmetrical and the east side is very elongated with large wrap-around bands.

If it keeps trending east and holds its current path off-shore, effects in Raleigh would be minimal. Perhaps some rain and gusty winds at times, but that's it.

last night the updates were moving back and forth...at 11 is was closer to us...it's really all depends on what the front right here on the coast does....if it moves we will get the full force of it...if it stays...it will stay farther out
