you guys can tell me i'm wrong b/c i havent had gress fed, but i thought grass fed was much gamier, less fat content. not necessarily a better taste if you dont like gaminess in your meat. high fat content makes beef delicious.

Interesting thread.

If I'm buying a steak (ribeye, NYS, filet, prime rib or other premium cut); I like grain-fattened meat for the superior marbleing. I've had grass-fed on several occasions and while it does have a bit bloodier flavor, it's just not as tender or rich as highly marbled USDA prime grain-fed.
Just personal preference I guess.

As far as completely organic meat goes, probably half the red meat in my diet is such because I kill about a dozen deer a year and do all of the aging, butchering and processing myself.

So the Rib-Eye was okay. I changed the seasoning I put on it before I threw it on the grill, so I'm sure that changed the taste I'm used to, in addition to grilling it.

I did notice the game-taste. It wasn't as strong in the RE as it was in the Sirloin, but the sirloin meat is more dense.

But, I did get an email today saying http://tendergrassfarm.com is taking 15% off most of their meat, so I might have to get some more.
