not really. everybody was affected differently by the attacks. if you didn't know someone, if you weren't "close" to the attacks. i can see people being not so much indifferent to the attacks, but not saddened/affected by the anniversaries.

I made a joke about how putting up a Chik-Fil-A across from my church is cruel and unusual punishment... No I'm wondering if I'll be ostracized for not having a 9/11 status I'm going to call my future BIL but besides that I'd rather not talk about it openly. It's just so depressing, and I'd rather say a prayer for all those hurting. :/ I don't see wha good will come from me talking about how I remember seeing convoy after convoy leave y hometown after this happened, and never seeing some of our customers ever again..

CNN this morning had a cool story about the evacuation of Manhattan by boats. All the tunnels and bridges were shut down, so no one could really leave the island. Basically the Coast Guard sent a message for help, and everyone in the area brought their ships to transfer people away. Good stories about strangers helping each other.

It was the biggest water evacuation in history. 500,000 evacuated in about 9 hours. Second biggest was at Dunkirk in WWII, when ~315k were pulled out over 9 days.
